The conference was chaired by Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Human Rights Steering Committee of Nghe An province Le Hong Vinh.
Attending the Conference were Deputy Chief of Office of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Dr. Le Trung Kien; Head of the Human Rights Section, Permanent Office on Human Rights, Colonel Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Party Secretary, Director of the Provincial Police, Major General Bui Quang Thanh; Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, Colonel Le Van Thai; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and mass organizations that are members of the Provincial Human Rights Steering Committee; representatives of leaders of People's Committees of districts, towns, cities, units under the Provincial Police and a number of press agencies, Nghe An Provincial Radio and Television Station...
In recent times, the work of ensuring human rights in our country has achieved many extremely important achievements, recognized internationally and by other countries. Nghe An province has always received special attention from the Party and the State, in which, in 2023, the Politburo issued Resolution 39 on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045 (replacing Resolution 26 in 2013).
In recent times, the province's socio-economic situation has developed quite well. According to statistics for the first 6 months of the year, GDP growth is estimated at 6.76%, ranking 3rd in the North Central region and 26th in the country. In the province, there are 135 valid FDI projects from 14 countries and territories with a total registered capital of nearly 4 billion USD (nearly 100 trillion VND). Attention is paid to cultural and social security work; national defense and security are maintained.
In the field of human rights protection, under the direction of the Government Human Rights Steering Committee, directly guided and coordinated by the Standing Office on Human Rights, the Nghe An Provincial Human Rights Steering Committee has advised the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee to comprehensively direct the implementation of all aspects of human rights work in the province and achieved many outstanding results. The work of ensuring and promoting human rights has received attention and direction, especially the implementation of social security policies in special areas and people in difficult circumstances; the work of protecting and caring for children and gender equality has received attention...

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Party Secretary, Director of the Provincial Police Major General Bui Quang Thanh emphasized that in the context of Vietnam's struggle for and protection of human rights, which has been facing many advantages, but also many difficulties and challenges, raising awareness among cadres and party members about this work is of special importance.
With the goal of renewing thinking, creating great changes in action, developing the struggle and protection of human rights in both breadth and depth; at the same time, linking with each locality, each field, each agency, unit, each cadre and party member in Nghe An province in the implementation process.
Therefore, Major General Bui Quang Thanh suggested that the delegates participating in the training focus their intelligence, pay attention to listening, absorbing and comprehending the issues conveyed; frankly exchange and discuss enthusiastically the unclear issues to have a comprehensive awareness of the work of protecting and fighting for human rights in the coming time.
At the Conference, Deputy Chief of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Dr. Le Trung Kien and Head of the Human Rights Section, Permanent Office for Human Rights, Colonel Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong conveyed topics related to human rights work in the new situation.
