The festival was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union in coordination with the City Elderly Association to honor 50 outstanding elderly women in building cultural, prosperous, and happy families and typical cultural and happy families in 2024.

Here, a cooking contest "Family with Vietnamese cuisine" was held with 100 teams from districts and Thu Duc City participating in cooking family meals.

Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union Tran Thi Phuong Hoa said that Vietnamese Family Day, June 28, has become a traditional day where love and sharing are honored and nurtured.

Activities to celebrate Vietnamese Family Day in Ho Chi Minh City are organized annually with rich content and diverse forms. The Happy Family Building Club interacts with topics and forums on cyber safety with children, learning to be parents, skills to organize family life, raising good children... attracting a large number of participants.

On this occasion, more than 20,000 exemplary happy cultural families and tens of thousands of examples of "Filial Children" at all levels were honored.

Honor the flowers of the happy picture

26 elderly women who are exemplary in building cultural, prosperous and happy families, along with 24 typical cultural and happy families at the city level, were honored on this occasion.

The representative of the festival’s organizing committee said that the bright examples being honored are like fresh flowers creating a brilliant garden of happiness. They are the core to preserve, cultivate and spread good values.

Although the couples are from different generations and have different occupations, they have in common the love, sharing, and respect for each other to build a happy family, raise obedient and successful children, and participate well in local activities.

On this occasion, the program awarded nearly 500 million VND in capital to help 110 women members in especially difficult circumstances after the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is known that recently, the Women's Economic Development Support Fund under the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union has awarded more than 2,100 women a total of 13.5 billion VND to contribute to the family economy.
