The turn with "green" medicine

With a passion for medicinal herbs, Ms. Pham Minh Hau began her entrepreneurial journey with her "green" product lines.

PV: What milestone made you decide to start a business?

Ms. Pham Minh Hau: I am a native of Nghe An. My journalism job allowed me to travel here and there and I realized that I wanted to spread the unique cultural features of my homeland. So I started by preserving and introducing Quy Hop tea.

At that time, no one knew about this drink. My sisters and I brought bamboo tubes containing tea leaves to introduce at Ma May Ancient House Space (Hanoi). That was the time when I didn’t have money to pay my friends, but it was a very emotional period and motivated me to continue developing.

PV: Choosing to start a business with "green" products, this path must not be easy for you?

Ms. Pham Minh Hau : Starting with passion, then my path became clearer and I was determined to pursue this product line. I am an "amateur", never in business before. "Green" products in 2015 were a new product line, quite picky about customers.

We learn knowledge, share, and almost accompany customers in using products of natural origin. This process takes a lot of time. We hope to introduce to customers medicinal products that are researched and applied with modern science combined with traditional experience.

Nowadays, the habit of consuming "green" products has changed. For example, when washing hair, in the past, many consumers were used to washing and dyeing their hair with chemicals, but now, many people use completely natural products.

Besides, the price of the product is also a barrier when approaching customers. Pure natural products are often more expensive and customers will have to compare prices when choosing. But I think, this is also an opportunity to help me become stronger to improve the quality of service.

We regularly organize product experience activities or workshops. Customers can try, feel and have their own feelings before deciding to buy the product.

PV: What do you want to bring your products to a wide range of consumers?

Ms. Pham Minh Hau : I cherish the desire to build a medicinal herb garden. There, I will grow medicinal herbs with high applicability, a place for people to experience, learn about medicinal herbs, even garden by themselves, make small products by themselves to learn, discover the uses of medicinal herbs, to leave behind current habits, return to nature, respect and use products from nature.
