On December 14, Russia put the head of Ukraine's military intelligence agency (GUR) Kyrylo Budanov on the wanted list, accusing GUR of carrying out attacks inside Russian territory.
Accordingly, Moscow has placed Mr. Budanov, 37, on the Russian Interior Ministry's list of people wanted for criminal offenses. Russia accuses Mr. Budanov of organizing the 2022 attack that destroyed part of a bridge connecting Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula that Moscow annexed with Russia.
Late last month, Ukraine publicly accused Russia of poisoning Mr Budanov's wife, Marianna Budanova, who was an adviser to Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko. The Kremlin has denied the accusation.
Regarding the developments of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Moscow announced on the same day that Russian air defense systems had shot down nine Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) heading towards the capital, hours before President Vladimir Putin's highly anticipated press conference.
Meanwhile, Kiev announced that Ukrainian air defense systems shot down dozens of Iranian-made UAVs deployed by Russian forces against the southern city of Odessa, in Moscow's latest overnight attack.
