(CLO) On November 7, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association held the 7th Provincial Journalists Association Congress for the 2024-2029 term. The Congress has the theme "Building a clean and strong Association; Improving political qualities, professional ethics, and professional capacity for journalists to match the tasks of the digital transformation period".

Attending and directing the Congress were comrade Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Journalists Association; comrade Le Quang Tien, Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee.

There were also leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee; departments, branches, leaders of units under the Vietnam Journalists Association, representatives of leaders, former leaders of the provincial press agencies, leaders of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association through the periods and 241 journalist members in the province.

Reading the opening speech of the Congress, comrade Nguyen Bao Lam, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association, said that this is an important political - social - professional event, a forum for the press in the province, including the provincial press - media agencies and central and industry press agencies with representatives and permanent residence in Thai Nguyen.

The 7th Congress for the 2024-2029 term will focus on evaluating and reviewing the implementation of the Resolution of the 6th Congress of the Provincial Journalists Association; implementing the Party's guidelines and resolutions and the State's policies and laws on journalism over the past 5 years; The Congress will focus on intelligence and promote responsibility to discuss, build, and propose directions and tasks for the new term.

Comrade Nguyen Bao Lam emphasized: The Congress is an opportunity for the Thai Nguyen Journalists Association and journalists of the province to unite, promote democracy and responsibility to successfully complete the set goals and tasks; practically contribute to promoting the development of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism; continue to make many contributions to the cause of building and protecting the country and homeland.

It is known that during the past term, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association has closely followed the Resolutions and Directives of the Party on press work and activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Thai Nguyen Journalists Association has constantly innovated in terms of content and form of activities. Always successfully completed the goals and tasks set by the 6th Congress of the Thai Nguyen Journalists Association, actively and effectively contributing to the innovation and development of the province and the revolutionary press.

Thai Nguyen currently has 3 press agencies and 1 media agency; 20 central and sectoral press agencies with representatives and permanent residence in Thai Nguyen; 32 newsletters of departments, agencies and sectors. Thai Nguyen press has developed in diverse forms: print, radio, television and electronic newspapers; rich in publications with daily, weekly and monthly newspapers.

Thai Nguyen press agencies always maintain their principles and purposes, perform well their functions as the mouthpiece of the Party and the State and the people's forum; closely follow the orientation and propagate the implementation of the tasks of the country and the province; actively propagate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's and the province's policies and laws; propagate new factors and advanced models in the fields of socio-economics, national defense and security, Party building and the political system.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, praised the efforts and achievements of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association in recent times. Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi said that Thai Nguyen, a land rich in cultural, historical and revolutionary traditions, is the "Capital of Resistance, the Capital of Thousand Winds", the cradle of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.

To successfully fulfill the responsibilities assigned by the Party, the government and the people, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association has closely followed the resolutions, directives, guidelines and policies of the Party and the laws of the State on press information. It has consulted with competent authorities in implementing mechanisms and policies for the press and journalists, closely followed the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Journalists Association, closely coordinated with departments, branches and sectors, and creatively applied them to improve the position, role, quality and effectiveness of the Association's activities.

In particular, during the past term, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association advised the provincial leaders to establish a provincial press award; in 2024, for the first time, the Thai Nguyen provincial press had its first press award called the Huynh Thuc Khang press award. Although it was the first time it was held, the Huynh Thuc Khang press award attracted the participation of many press agencies.

The Congress also awarded a certificate of merit from the Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee to a collective (Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association).

In the next 5-year term, especially in 2025, there will be many important events of the country and especially the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association, in order to fulfill its responsibilities well, the Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association emphasized the request: The Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association needs to continue to implement Directive No. 43-CT/TW dated April 8, 2020 of the Central Party Secretariat "On strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new situation"...

The Provincial Journalists Association and press agencies of Thai Nguyen province need to promote innovation, improve and enhance the quality of publications serving Party Congresses at all levels towards the 21st Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress.

Continue to improve the quality of propaganda on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in conjunction with the 10 regulations on professional ethics for journalists, training political qualities, expertise and skills in accordance with the aspirations of members, the development of journalism and 4.0 journalism technology... At the Congress, delegates voted to elect 9 comrades to the 7th Provincial Journalists Association Executive Committee, term 2024-2029. At the first meeting, comrade Nguyen Bao Lam, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association, continued to be elected as Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association; comrade Nguyen Ngoc Son, Editor-in-Chief of Thai Nguyen Newspaper, was elected as Vice Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association; comrade Nguyen Nam Hai, Deputy Director of Thai Nguyen Radio and Television Station, was elected as Vice Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, concurrently Head of the Inspection Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association.
