13-year-old boy behind the design of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 crown

On the evening of September 14, the final round of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 took place in Ho Chi Minh City with the competition of 29 contestants. Besides the coronation of Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen (born 1996, Nam Dinh), information about the crown worth 24 million VND also attracted the attention of the online community.

The person behind this year's crown design is Hoang Xuan Thuyen (born 2011, Ha Tinh). Currently, the male student is studying in grade 8 at Dong Chieu Secondary School, Di An City, Binh Duong.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Xuan Thuyen said: "I have a passion for design after entering middle school. At school, I participated in activities such as the Young Creativity contest, Career Experience , Art club (Fine Arts and Music) and gradually accumulated experience to create the current crown work".

Xuan Thuyen's work, called "Million Dollar Mission," was designed in about 15 days. The crown was inspired by Vietnam's cultural heritage. The 13-year-old student wanted to honor the nation's fine traditions, connect the present with the past, and affirm the values ​​of history and longevity.

The crown consists of a main stone symbolizing the new beauty queen, the remaining 10 secondary stones symbolizing the 10 schools that will be built during her term. In addition, the detail of 5 stars around it implies the 5 missions of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 .

According to Xuan Thuyen, the biggest difficulty was probably having to consider how to create a crown worth 24 million VND. During the entire process, the male student tried to make a detailed plan and control the budget for each stage, from design to completion.

"Keeping track of costs and adjusting when necessary helps me maintain a balance between cost and quality. In addition, I choose silver and zircon instead of platinum and natural gemstones, which is both economical and maintains a luxurious and sophisticated beauty.

I did not design the crown to be too elaborate but aimed for simplicity, focusing on small details and sophisticated manufacturing techniques to highlight the beauty," Xuan Thuyen confided.

Xuan Thuyen felt quite surprised to be the youngest contestant in this year's Crown Design competition. At first, the male student was a bit scared when competing with older and more experienced students. However, this is the dream that Xuan Thuyen has cherished for two years, so he is determined to devote all his efforts to achieving his goal.

When his name was called as the winner, Xuan Thuyen felt very happy and pleased that his design was highly appreciated by the judges and the online community. With the prize money he won, the male student will give it to his parents for safekeeping, take a small portion to buy gifts for his friends and invest in his studies as well as indulge his passion for design.

In the future, the male student from Ha Tinh hopes to continue participating in national costume design competitions, further improving his skills and learning from the experiences of his seniors.
