In recent years, the education sector of Muong Ang district (Dien Bien) has continuously innovated to improve the quality of comprehensive education, achieving encouraging results.
Although the people's lives in Muong Ang district still face many difficulties, the conditions of facilities and teaching equipment are still lacking; the application of new teaching methods is still limited, especially for students in mountainous, remote and isolated areas. However, in recent years, the quality of education in Muong Ang district has been recorded to have positive changes.
Talking to Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Muong Ang district, he said: In order to improve the quality of education in a uniform and comprehensive manner, the Department of Education and Training of the district has coordinated with relevant units to review and advise the District People's Committee to invest in upgrading, repairing and building new classrooms; directing schools to actively implement the socialization of education to mobilize resources to invest in facilities and teaching equipment. Thanks to that, up to now, the facilities have been enhanced in both quantity and quality. The whole district currently has 581 classrooms and learning support rooms, including 386 solid rooms, 174 semi-solid rooms, and 21 temporary rooms.

In addition, the development of teachers and educational managers is given special attention. Every year, the district conducts training and fostering of teachers and managers to ensure standards of professional qualifications, ethical qualities, and a sense of responsibility, meeting the requirements of educational innovation. Currently, the number of teachers is basically sufficient in quantity and consistent in structure. In the last school year, the number of teachers in the area with a university degree or higher was 807; 43 teachers with a college degree. The district currently has 251 teachers who are excellent teachers at the district level, including 72 preschool teachers, 100 primary school teachers, and 67 secondary school teachers. Of which, 48/251 teachers have achieved the title of excellent teachers at the provincial level, including 12 preschool teachers, 18 primary school teachers, and 18 secondary school teachers.

“Along with that, the district Department of Education and Training continues to direct all levels of education to organize well the innovation of professional activities in schools, inter-school professional activities; at the same time, direct schools to innovate teaching methods, forms, and testing and evaluation. Especially, increasing the application of information technology in teaching and educational activities. Schools have had appropriate solutions and forms of teaching organization; paying attention to supporting weak students; focusing on nurturing excellent students, gifted students... From there, the quality of comprehensive education has been gradually improved”, said Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang.

Thanks to the efforts of the entire sector, the quality of education and training at all levels has been improved through each school year. Every year, the percentage of good and excellent students at secondary school reaches over 50%; at primary school, 99% of students have good abilities and qualities; at preschool level, 98% of children achieve physical and cognitive development. The district has also completed universal preschool education for 5-year-old children.
