Synchronously and effectively deploy social monitoring and criticism

The work of social supervision and criticism has been implemented synchronously and effectively by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels of Dien Bien province, contributing to the implementation of democracy, representation, protection of the people's legitimate rights and interests, and making an important contribution to the building and improvement of local policies, programs and projects.

According to Mr. Mua A Vang - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province, in 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province will continue to improve the quality and effectiveness of social supervision and criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations according to Directive No. 18 dated October 26, 2022 of the Secretariat, continuing to implement the Project to improve the quality of social supervision and criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the period of 2024 - 2029.

In particular, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province focuses on monitoring the contents of implementing democracy at the grassroots level, implementing democracy in agencies and units; the implementation of the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels in the period of 2023 - 2030...; at the same time, organizing social criticism of draft laws in the law and ordinance building program of the National Assembly in 2025 directly related to the legitimate rights and interests of the people, which are of interest to voters and public opinion and discussed during the drafting process.

The highlight of the monitoring and social criticism activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province in 2024 is demonstrated by the fact that the monitoring work was implemented synchronously and effectively from the provincial to the communal level. During the year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in the province chaired 83 monitoring sessions with 2 forms of organizing the Delegation and monitoring through reports, with many different fields such as the National Target Program, policies and regimes, the implementation of conventions and village regulations in residential areas, etc. Through monitoring, there were 148 opinions and recommendations sent to all levels and sectors for consideration, handling and resolution according to regulations.

Promoting democracy at the grassroots level, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province has guided the People's Inspection Committees and Community Investment Supervision Committees to continue to focus on supervising matters directly related to the interests of local people. The supervision activities of the People's Inspection Committees and Community Investment Supervision Committees continue to be improved in quality and efficiency, ensuring the interests of the people.

For example, in Noong Het commune (Dien Bien district), in the first 9 months of 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune chaired the establishment of 11 Community Investment Supervision Boards, conducting 20 supervisions of 11 projects in the commune, including supervision of the construction of upgrading, expanding embankments, paving sidewalks and renovating the drainage system on both sides of the main road, the commune's multi-purpose cultural house... Through supervision, the Community Investment Supervision Boards made recommendations to the investor and the Commune People's Committee to promptly consider and handle shortcomings, thereby actively contributing to ensuring the quality of the projects.

Along with strengthening supervision, the 2024 social criticism activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province also achieved many positive results with 24 criticism sessions and 217 criticism opinions. The role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is increasingly promoted in contributing to Party and government building as well as in social supervision and criticism work.
