(Dan Tri) - Quang Binh province strives to eliminate 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households by September.
On January 3, Quang Binh province launched a program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, aiming to improve living conditions for poor and near-poor households.
Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses not only has the meaning of material support but is also a deeply humane act, demonstrating the responsibility of the entire political system and the spirit of solidarity of the whole society.
Quang Binh has more than 2,150 poor and near-poor households living in temporary, dilapidated houses that need to be rebuilt or renovated and repaired. The province aims to support the elimination of 100% of temporary, dilapidated houses for these households by September.
The support level for households building new houses is 60 million VND, while those repairing and renovating houses will be supported with 30 million VND.
The total expected support amount is about 98 billion VND, taken from the provincial budget and 5% savings from regular state budget expenditures.
The Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee called on Party committees, authorities, departments, branches, organizations, and localities to clearly define their roles and responsibilities and urgently and resolutely implement the program's contents.
He also suggested stepping up propaganda work, creating a widespread movement in society, and calling on people and businesses to diversify forms of support in the spirit of "mutual love and support" and "helping each other".
