Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong, said the luxury train is expected to open before May 13, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong City's Liberation Day.

The train has 2 VIP cars with 16 single sofas and 5 20-seat sofas arranged in 3 different spaces. The VIP cars have natural wooden floors, luxurious interiors, free wifi, a bar and live musicians. The remaining 18 cars have 56 swivel seats, plastic carpet floors, stone-patterned plastic walls, and decorative LED ceilings.

Hai Phong City hopes that the new train will become an attractive rail tourism product and enhance the experience for tourists. The ticket prices for these train cars have not yet been announced.

In May, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong also organized the Hai Phong Food Festival 2025, from May 9 to May 14, at Hai Phong Station, 75 Luong Khanh Thien Street, Ngo Quyen. The event is expected to have 40 food stalls, Hai Phong delicacies, and specialties from localities in the city participating.

In the past 5 years, the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway has been used by many people to experience food tours.

According to statistics in 2024, the number of passengers traveling by train from Hanoi to Hai Phong will reach more than 1.5 million, an increase compared to 1.4 million in 2023.
