On the morning of April 19, the Provincial Labor Safety and Hygiene Council and the Provincial Labor Federation launched Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Labor Safety and Hygiene in 2025.
Comrades: Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Duc Tuan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Minh Hung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Council for Occupational Safety and Hygiene; representatives of the Department of Employment (Ministry of Home Affairs); leaders of a number of departments, branches, localities, enterprises and more than 400 workers, laborers, and union members in the province attended.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung requested that all levels of trade unions thoroughly grasp the Party's directives and resolutions on strengthening occupational safety and hygiene. Promote emulation movements among workers, civil servants, and laborers, promote initiatives, improve techniques, improve labor productivity, and create a safe and effective working environment.
Trade unions at all levels need to closely follow the grassroots, grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers to advise the government and businesses to promptly resolve them. Strengthen propaganda, inspection, and training on labor laws and occupational safety and hygiene; raise awareness of prevention and containment of accidents and occupational diseases; strictly handle violations of labor safety. Enterprises need to strictly implement regulations on labor safety and hygiene; develop safe and effective working processes; fully equip personal protective equipment, and organize periodic training for workers.
With the theme of Workers' Month being "Vietnamese workers pioneering into a new era" and the Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene being "Strengthening assessment, identifying risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure occupational safety and hygiene at the workplace", the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee called on the entire political system, businesses and workers in the whole province to join hands to act, so that every working day is a safe, effective and exciting day.
On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor organized a ceremony to honor and reward 50 workers and laborers with outstanding achievements in the movement of researching and applying science and technology to production. The Department of Employment (Ministry of Home Affairs) awarded certificates of merit to 3 collectives with outstanding achievements in ensuring occupational safety and hygiene in 2024.
In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor also has 3 "union shelters" with a total value of 150 million VND for workers: Pham Thi Them (SPAC Vietnam Co., Ltd.), Le Thi Xuyen (Doan Thuong Kindergarten, Gia Loc) and Nguyen Thi Quyen (Sao Vang Co., Ltd.). Of which, BIDV Bank, Hai Duong branch supported 100 million VND; Provincial Social Insurance supported 50 million VND. 200 gifts (each worth 2 million VND) were given to workers and laborers in difficult circumstances in the province.
