Lai Chau: Industrial promotion activities help promote advantages of raw materials and labor Tuyen Quang accepts the basis of the local industrial promotion project in 2024 |
In 2022, after a long time of learning experience at Cordyceps mushroom growing facilities, Mr. Dang Kien - Owner of Cordyceps business in Sin Ho Plateau (Sin Ho town, Sin Ho district, Lai Chau province) boldly invested 1.2 billion VND to build a house to grow this mushroom with high nutritional value.
Mr. Kien said that Sin Ho is a locality with a cool climate all year round, suitable for growing medicinal plants. Cordyceps sinensis grown in Sin Ho is large, plump, and has high nutritional value. Accompanying Mr. Kien in developing this promising economic model, in 2023, from the national industrial promotion fund, the Lai Chau Provincial Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting Center supported the application of 01 freeze dryer with a capacity of 15kg/batch (01 batch is about 24 - 40 hours). The equipment has a total investment cost of 423.5 million VND, of which the national industrial promotion fund supports 200 million VND and the unit's contribution is 223.5 million VND.

Evaluating the effectiveness after investment, Mr. Kien emphasized that the freeze dryer has the advantage over other types of machines in that it retains the color and nutrients of the product, the drying time is shortened, helping to increase productivity. "The newly invested dryer helps businesses increase productivity by more than 50% compared to before the investment," said Mr. Kien.
It is known that after receiving support from the national industrial promotion fund for freeze-drying machines, the Sin Ho Highland Cordyceps business household invested in expanding a mushroom farm. Currently, in addition to fresh mushrooms, the Sin Ho Highland Cordyceps business household also has freeze-dried dried mushrooms. The business household's products are widely consumed through a nationwide distribution network, and are also widely promoted and consumed through social networking channels such as Facebook and Zalo.
Confident in the quality of his business's products, Mr. Kien said that cordyceps mushrooms have been developed in many places, even in Lai Chau there are places that have developed this model. However, thanks to the cool climate, similar to areas with natural cordyceps such as Tibet, the quality of the mushrooms is much superior.
In addition, the mushrooms of the household business are grown in a semi-natural model. That means, the household business only has to use air conditioning for the mushroom growing house from 7am to 6pm a day, and does not use air conditioning in winter. While other regions have to use air conditioning 24/24 hours. This has helped the Cordyceps Business Household of Cao Nguyen Sin Ho significantly reduce electricity costs (about 10 million VND/month) and machine maintenance costs.
At the same time, reducing the product price by about 20% has helped the product have a more competitive advantage when it is brought to the market. Currently, on average, each month, businesses bring to the market about 15-20 kg of dried mushrooms and 10,000 boxes of fresh mushrooms. "Our fresh products are not being supplied to the market in time according to the orders of distributors," said Mr. Kien.
It is known that, in addition to being supported with production machinery and equipment, the Sin Ho Highland Cordyceps Business Household is also facilitated by the Lai Chau Department of Industry and Trade to participate in rural industrial fairs held inside and outside the province to increase recognition and expand product promotion.
Sharing about his wishes for the future, Mr. Kien expressed: My wish, as well as that of many production establishments, is to continue to receive support from the Department of Industry and Trade through programs to expand production and business more strongly to contribute to the development of the family and local economy.
