Representatives of a number of agencies, units, restaurants and businesses in Bat Xat district signed a commitment to implement the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms and create a smoke-free environment.

In Lao Cai province, activities to prevent and combat the harmful effects of tobacco have been implemented since 2015 and have achieved many results: the number of smokers has decreased over the years; the number of passive smokers has decreased significantly in places where smoking is prohibited; activities to build a smoke-free environment have been promoted in agencies, units, medical facilities, schools, factories, hotels, etc.

However, in recent years, new types of tobacco have appeared, especially electronic cigarettes, which are penetrating the youth. Therefore, promoting the implementation of the tobacco harm prevention program will contribute significantly to the work of protecting, caring for and improving people's health, protecting future generations.
