53-year-old single mother agrees to date widowed tailor in Ben Tre

Participating in the show You Want to Date , Lam Thi Hoai Thu (currently working as a cook in Ho Chi Minh City) was paired with Ngo Van Thong - a tailor and menswear designer in Ben Tre.

The girl's family introduced her as a strong person but shy to socialize, after work she just wants to stay home to sleep and rest.

Her first marriage ended 6 years ago. Hoai Thu said her ex-husband was gentle but childish. Living together for a long time, she was always the one taking care of everything. After many years of enduring and waiting for her children to grow up, she divorced her husband.

Meanwhile, Van Thong is a good cook, cares for his family and loves the arts but has a hot temper. He is living with his old mother (84 years old) in Ben Tre.

Van Thong’s first wife died in 2007. Since then, he has dated another woman but to no avail. At that time, this woman had plans to settle down abroad, with no known return date. At first, the two kept in touch but then they passed away.

He has two daughters (30 and 29 years old) who are both married. Now the groom's family only has his mother, so he wants to find a partner who knows how to behave, cares and looks after the family, and doesn't like people who talk too much.

Sitting in the audience area, Van Thong's sister shared that the bride's family is a lovely family. The sister thinks that since both of them are old and have children of their own, they should reunite and work together to plan for the future.

Hoai Thu's younger sister commented that the groom's family is gentle and meets the criteria that Hoai Thu gave. If possible, the two should give each other a chance to get to know each other.

After exchanging gifts, Van Thong and Hoai Thu talked and learned more about each other's lives and perspectives. The groom's family said that he had an elderly mother and could not move to another place to live. Therefore, he hoped that the bride's family could return to Ben Tre to live if the two got together.

"If you two get together, can I go back to Ben Tre to live?", Van Thong asked. "Okay, but I still have a son in college for another year. I also like to live in the quiet, fresh countryside", Hoai Thu replied.

The girl's family also confided that she needed to worry about her son finishing school (it would take another year) before they could think about the next step. The boy's family agreed and was willing to wait, so that Hoai Thu could fulfill her duties.
