"There is no doubt that today will be a match against the strongest team in the world for many years," coach Jurgen Klopp said at a press conference before the big match between Liverpool and Man City in round 13 of the Premier League taking place tonight (7:30 p.m. on November 25) at Etihad Stadium.
"Winning is a huge task for every team in the world and for us, but we will try anyway.
This is not a test to see what level we are compared to Man City, this is just an extremely attractive football match," the German strategist expressed excitement during the away match at Etihad Stadium.
Notably, coach Jurgen Klopp is considered a worthy opponent of Pep Guardiola, when in a total of 28 confrontations between Liverpool and Man City, the German strategist helped the "Red Brigade" win 12 matches, lose 11 matches and have 5 draws.
According to British media, the match between Liverpool and Man City is also a confrontation between the two best coaches in world football today and possibly the top two in the past decade.
Coach Jurgen Klopp himself also admitted that he enjoys mind games with his colleague Guardiola, who he happily accepts as the best coach in world football at the moment.
"If I had to tell you how much influence Pep has had on football, it would be a joke. I don't know how many times I've said it but he's the best coach in the world," Jurgen Klopp shared.
"But for us, beating Man City is really exciting, we have to prepare properly and we know we have to give our best to have a chance to do that. We have a chance and we have to take it.
Meanwhile, talking about the big match with Liverpool, coach Pep Guardiola expressed humility and caution against an opponent he always highly appreciates in the Premier League.
"To be honest, I could not have expected Man City to be in this position at the beginning of the season. We have to compete with five very strong teams, but we are still at the top of the table. The match against Liverpool is very important, but there are many more matches like that coming up," coach Pep Guardiola said in a press conference before the match.
Coach Pep Guardiola said he has high hopes that Erling Haaland will be fit enough to face the "Red Brigade" after his favorite student had to miss the Norwegian team's squad due to injury at the FIFA Days last November.
"He trained yesterday with some mistakes, today we continue training and hopefully he will participate and do better," confirmed Pep Guardiola.
A lot of things can happen, can we play badly and lose? Maybe. Can we play badly and win? I would say it's unlikely, almost impossible against Man City.
We can play very well without winning, that is possible. But I believe that if we play well we will win," the 56-year-old coach expressed before the match with Man City.
