(CLO) On October 28, at Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Office in Hanoi coordinated with the Department of Tourism of Ninh Binh province and the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) to organize the announcement ceremony of the Project "Evaluating the economic value of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex".
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee provided an overview of the purpose and significance of the Project implementation in the process of preserving and promoting the value of the World Heritage Site of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex in the development of Ninh Binh province.

The implementation of the Project aims to fully identify the contributions of heritage, including current economic value as well as future prospects associated with the vision of a millennium heritage city.
The results of the study provide information for the decision-making process in the management of the Trang An World Heritage Site and the development plan of Ninh Binh province. The project will propose necessary policies and actions, creating conditions for the heritage to contribute maximally to the economic development of the province and sustainable national development.
According to Director of Ninh Binh Province Department of Tourism Bui Van Manh, identifying and accurately assessing the economic value - world heritage brand of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex not only provides a scientific and practical basis for managing, preserving, promoting sustainable heritage values, enhancing community awareness and responsibility, but also helps to provide orientations and strategies for socio-economic development, solving people's livelihood issues, ensuring harmony between conservation and development.

In particular, it is necessary to establish an action strategy for developing heritage economy, tourism economy and creative economy as an important driving force, contributing to realizing the goal of building Hoa Lu - becoming a "Millennium Heritage City", a creative city in the future.
Assessing the economic value of a heritage is not just about numbers or simply a tool to assess economic value, more importantly it raises awareness of the value of the world heritage Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex.
Through this project, the complex values of the heritage as a whole are deepened, including: natural ecosystem, historical-cultural values, settlement heritage and brand spreading values. The results of the Project are published internationally in terms of science, thereby creating a basis for UNESCO to connect with prestigious international organizations, together announcing the overall value of the heritage according to international standards and practices.
The quantitative research results of the Project will be the basis for developing policies, strategies, and key projects to exploit the potential, strengths, and brands of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex in an effective, sustainable, and harmonious manner, helping Ninh Binh provincial management agencies and relevant parties to develop specific strategies and action plans, while improving and innovating management methods to preserve, restore, promote the value, and transfer the Heritage to future generations in accordance with the spirit of the 1972 World Heritage Convention.

To successfully implement the Project, Mr. Bui Van Manh suggested that departments, branches, sectors, and local authorities in the heritage site continue to cooperate closely with experts and scientists in research, forecasting, updating information, and developing plans to preserve, exploit, and sustainably develop the heritage. Domestic and international researchers coordinate to research, propose solutions, and propose appropriate mechanisms and policies in the management and sustainable exploitation of the outstanding global value of the heritage...
Tourism enterprises in the heritage area must strictly implement the regulations and rules on heritage management; prioritize the development of environmentally friendly tourism products and services, protect the landscape and ecosystem in the heritage area; build corporate culture associated with building the image and brand of the heritage area... At the same time, preserve and conserve the natural environment, develop cultural industry, creating a balance between economic development and heritage conservation.
Director of Ninh Binh Province Department of Tourism Bui Van Manh also suggested that the UNESCO Hanoi Office, the World Heritage Center, UNESCO advisory bodies, and international experts closely coordinate with the Department and the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts to implement and announce the results of the Project. On that basis, move towards building the Trang An Declaration or, at a higher level, the Charter on the Trang An Mixed World Heritage.
