- Musician DANG QUANG VINH: In a flash, I was 72 years old, living and working in Ho Chi Minh City for more than 40 years. For a long time, I have always wanted to express my feelings about Ho Chi Minh City through music. Therefore, having the opportunity to participate in the song composition campaign "The Country is Full of Joy" of the Lao Dong Newspaper, I was honored to contribute 2 songs "Leaning with the City's Heights" and "Before Ben Nha Rong".
What message about pride in being a citizen of Ho Chi Minh City do you convey in these two songs?
- The song "Rising to the heights of the city" was composed from the poem of poet Le Diep. The song wants to introduce to everyone that Ho Chi Minh City has a new city, a city within a city. That is the smart city - Thu Duc City. With the song "Before Ben Nha Rong" - anonymous poem, are my feelings about Ben Nha Rong - where Uncle Ho left to find a way to save the country, about Saigon River - the heritage river... of Ho Chi Minh City that has overcome many difficulties, towards an open future after 50 years of national reunification.

What is your most memorable memory about Ho Chi Minh City?
- Previously, I worked at the Arts Department of the Voice of Ho Chi Minh City People (VOH). I am very proud to have worked at a major radio station and will always remember my time working here. From here, I got to know colleagues from localities in the Mekong Delta, the Southeast region, and even provinces and cities in the Central and Northern regions. I was impressed by the dynamism and daily changes in the socio-economic landscape, the friendliness and generosity of the people of Ho Chi Minh City.
In order to spread songs about Ho Chi Minh City to a large number of young audiences, what should the campaign to compose songs with the theme "A Country Full of Joy" of the Lao Dong Newspaper do?
- In my opinion, we must find many ways for these songs (audio, video) to be heard in many different media and social networks and to be heard regularly, the more the better, of course selectively.
What do you expect from the campaign to compose the theme song "The Country is Full of Joy" of the Newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong?
- I think Ho Chi Minh City's celebration of the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) is one of the most important events of the whole country. Therefore, the campaign to compose the theme song "The Country is Full of Joy" by the Lao Dong Newspaper was born very timely and meaningful. This is also a playground for all domestic and foreign musicians who love Ho Chi Minh City to participate and express themselves. I think there will be dedicated and good works from this campaign to contribute to the colorful and fragrant flower garden of Ho Chi Minh City's music and art.
The songwriting campaign "The Country is Full of Joy" is organized by the Lao Dong Newspaper to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The Organizing Committee (OC) will select the 20 best works for the final round. The final round will take place in February 2025. During the time of receiving works and preliminary screening, the Organizing Committee will select good works to stage and introduce at the 30th Mai Vang Awards ceremony (around January 2025). At the same time, the Organizing Committee will also post the works on the newspaper's social networking platform to introduce to the public.
