Lifestart Foundation awards over 1.5 billion VND in scholarships to medical students

(QNO) - The non-governmental organization Lifestart Foundation (Australia) has just awarded 9 scholarships to medical students with especially difficult circumstances in the Central region studying at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hue University).

Specifically, Lifestart Foundation awarded 7 full medical scholarships, each worth 12,500 USD, to 7 excellent students of General Medicine at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. In addition, 2 resident medical students of the school received residency scholarships worth 1,300 USD each. Of these, Quang Nam province has 2 students, including 1 general medical student and 1 resident medical student.

In addition to providing financial support throughout the school year, Lifestart Foundation also donated 3 new laptops, bringing the total scholarship value to more than 60,275 USD, equivalent to more than 1.5 billion VND.

The nine students and trainees who received the scholarship this time all have outstanding academic achievements. Despite their extremely difficult family circumstances, the students have shown extraordinary efforts to pursue their dream of becoming doctors and contributing to the community.

Ms. Karen Leonard OAM - founder of Lifestart Foundation shared that she is extremely honored to be able to support excellent students through medical and residency scholarships, contributing to nurturing medical talents, helping to improve the quality of health care in Vietnam.

“We hope that these scholarships will not only provide material support but also create conditions for students to maximize their potential,” said Ms. Karen Leonard.

Over the past 20 years, the Lifestart Foundation's medical scholarship program has become the organization's most financially valuable project in Vietnam, supporting many disadvantaged students to pursue their medical dreams.

In addition to financial support, Lifestart Foundation also provides necessary learning tools and accompanies students throughout their studies, including donating laptops and organizing monthly meetings to monitor and guide their learning, creating a positive and lasting impact on students' learning outcomes and lives.

To date, Lifestart Foundation has awarded 114 scholarships to students at many universities across Vietnam, with a total value of up to 639,447 USD (equivalent to more than 16 billion VND).

“Lifestart Foundation believes that education can help break the generational cycle of poverty. Nurturing and encouraging kindness, especially in the field of health, will greatly contribute to the development of the country and its people.

The motivation and inspiration of Lifestart Foundation during 25 years of volunteering in Vietnam are the students of this scholarship program" - Ms. Karen Leonard shared more.

The scholarship is awarded to students who meet three main requirements: excellent academic performance; difficult economic circumstances; and a willingness to contribute to the community as demonstrated through their future career choices.
