Linking Binh Dinh tourism product development, connecting railway tourism products

(BD) - On the morning of March 31, at the Provincial Convention Center (Quy Nhon City), the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Binh Dinh Tourism Association organized a workshop on linking the development of Binh Dinh tourism products and connecting railway tourism products of Da Nang and Khanh Hoa.

Attending the workshop were Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, districts, towns and cities in the province; representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of neighboring provinces; tourism associations, travel agencies, tourism businesses, international travel businesses in the country.

In recent years, Binh Dinh continues to be an attractive tourist destination, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists. The province's tourism activities have changed dramatically, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development process; in particular, 2025 is of special significance, the year of acceleration, breakthrough, and completion, and is also the final year of implementing the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels and the Action Program No. 06-CTr/TU dated May 14, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on developing Binh Dinh tourism into a spearhead economic sector in the period of 2020 - 2025.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Ms. Do Thi Dieu Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: “To achieve the goal of attracting 10 million visitors this year, we will effectively organize tourism promotion and advertising activities; link tourism development, diversify tourism products associated with natural resources and local cultural characteristics. The highlight is to form a series of events and festivals to create unique and different tourism products of national and international stature to increase the experience and attraction for tourists to Binh Dinh, gradually attracting the international tourist market”.

The workshop took place in 3 sessions: Session 1 - introducing the potential, products, and policies to stimulate tourism in Binh Dinh; Session 2 - discussions and speeches by delegates attending the workshop; Session 3 - connecting businesses of the Binh Dinh Tourism Association.

Delegates contributed many ideas for Binh Dinh province to exploit more effectively its potential and advantages, create a variety of tourism products; closely coordinate between the railway industry, travel agencies, tourist areas and destinations and state management agencies to build attractive tourism products, combining rail transport and diverse experiential services, such as: Resorts, cultural exploration, local cuisine... Thereby, exploiting the potential and strengths of tourism resources in each locality, forming tourism products, especially railway tourism connecting localities in the region, as well as introducing stimulus programs and new tourism products of Binh Dinh.

Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu said: “The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and Vietnam Railways Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding in July 2024, not only marking the commitment to cooperation between the two industries but also opening up many new opportunities to promote sustainable tourism development. Binh Dinh is one of the localities with favorable conditions to develop railway tourism thanks to its strategic location on the North-South railway line, rich natural landscapes and many attractive tourist destinations; Dieu Tri station and Quy Nhon station are favorable conditions for exploiting railway tourism, combined with exploiting other tourism products such as: Cruises, resorts, culture, sports, etc. We will accompany Binh Dinh province to plan to create diverse tourism products, towards developing green tourism, digital tourism, smart tourism”.

Concluding the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang said: "The province will continue to diversify tourism products, increase attractive experiences for tourists, especially maintain the image and tourism brand of Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh. In addition to the charter trains/carriages deployed by the province to introduce and stimulate tourism in the province on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Dinh Province (March 31, 1975 - March 31, 2025), the province will have a plan to coordinate with the railway industry to organize more professional and standard charter trains/carriages, bearing the unique identity of Binh Dinh to serve tourists from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang City, Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa Province) to Binh Dinh to experience tourism".
