On April 2, Nghe An Provincial Police announced that this unit has just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Hoang Vu Lap (born in 1997, residing in Lang Giang commune, Van Ban district, Lao Cai province) for the act of theft of property.

Previously, on March 20, 2025, Ms. HT H (residing in Tan Thang commune, Quynh Luu district) discovered that a large amount of gold that she had hidden in her closet was missing. Immediately after that, Ms. H reported the incident to the authorities.

Upon receiving the information, the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Province Police urgently verified and identified the suspect.

During the investigation, using professional measures, the authorities identified the perpetrator of the theft as Hoang Vu Lap.

In the early morning of March 21, 2025, the task force was assigned to coordinate with Lao Cai Provincial Police to arrest Hoang Vu Lap while he was hiding on a passenger bus in Tan Thuong commune, Van Ban district, Lao Cai province.

Confiscated at the scene were 21 taels of gold, worth more than 212 million VND, which the subject hid in his shirt pocket, including: 01 necklace; 01 bracelet; 04 rings; 01 pair of gold flowers.

At the investigation agency, Lap confessed to having a previous acquaintance with Ms. Ha Thi H., taking advantage of his friends' subjectivity and carelessness, and needing money for personal use, he committed the theft.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Province has issued a decision to prosecute the subject in accordance with the provisions of law.
