Quang Ninh Health improves capacity for the cause of people's health care

According to statistics from the Quang Ninh Health sector, the application of the power of science and technology (S&T) is the key to helping the province's health sector make strong progress in a short period of time. Up to now, Quang Ninh is the pioneering locality in the country to have completed and reached the finish line with 100% of hospitals and health centers in the area using electronic medical records - assessed by the Ministry of Health as the core and starting point for all digital transformation efforts in the health sector.

Currently, more than 1.3 million people in the province have their health managed and their medical examination and treatment history synchronized with the "Electronic Health Book" application of the people; 100% of medical examination and treatment data at medical units is linked with electronic health records.

Access and deploy many advanced and difficult techniques right in the locality to best care for the health of the people of Quang Ninh as well as the region.

The Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Health said it is continuing to coordinate with localities to monitor and pilot the remote medical examination and treatment consultation support platform (VTelehealth) of the Ministry of Health; connecting, sharing, and cleaning medical examination and treatment data with the national population database system; medical examination and treatment database and health insurance settlement of Vietnam Social Security; national electronic prescriptions, etc.

Director of the Department of Health of Quang Ninh province Nguyen Trong Dien affirmed that with the current solid foundation conditions, the Quang Ninh Health sector is determined to continue to further improve medical capacity, quality of examination and treatment at all medical facilities at all levels; attract high-quality human resources, promote scientific research, international cooperation; in which special attention is paid to developing science and technology, bringing Resolution 57 into practice to each medical unit, each department, each medical staff, in order to access and deploy many high and difficult techniques right in the locality; provide the best care for the health of the people of Quang Ninh as well as the region.

In particular, in 2024, nearly 600 science and technology tasks at all levels of the Health sector were assessed, approved and accepted. Medical units in the entire Quang Ninh province have deployed 116 specialized medical techniques in all specialties; reducing the referral rate by 3.57%, the lowest in the Red River Delta region.

In particular, Quang Ninh has 3 specialized medical units: Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital, Provincial General Hospital, and Bai Chay Hospital. These are all units that have deployed a series of high-tech, difficult techniques of the central government right at the unit, helping people feel secure in receiving treatment right at the facility, reducing time and costs, and increasing access to high-quality medical services.

These are the first 2 organ transplants performed at a provincial medical facility. This affirms the high determination of the Quang Ninh Health sector in participating deeply in the national organ donation and transplant network, fulfilling high responsibilities to the community, ensuring the deployment of advanced techniques to serve the people right in the locality.
