This April marks 50 years since our country was reunited, and that feeling is even more intense.
Many days ago, the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country filled the streets. Groups of billboards, banners, and slogans appeared in many places, creating a visual atmosphere of encouragement. The sites of resistance and revolution and museums became more crowded. Not only groups of veterans, but also many young people and children came to visit.
At Thanh Hoa Museum, the exhibition room of revolutionary and patriotic traditions from 1945 to 1975 is constantly open to visitors. Documents and artifacts about the contributions of Thanh Hoa’s army and people to the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign attract the attention of many viewers. Many young people choose the museum instead of entertainment venues to have the opportunity to learn more about a heroic period of the nation’s history, about the sacrifices that our ancestors had to make to achieve this.
In many coffee shops, the owners have painstakingly collected and restored many artifacts and wartime images such as flags, uniforms, and items of the liberation army to create beautiful, emotional check-in corners that attract many young people to take photos.
The movement of taking photos with the national flag has also become a popular trend on social networks. Many costumes are elaborately designed by young people with impressive words and images carrying a very clear message of pride and gratitude.
Since early April 2025, many fanpages of youth organizations, the Youth Union and personal accounts have posted representative images to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification. Along with the representative frames, the hashtags #tuhaomotdainonsong, #50namthongnhat are attached to articles on the topic of 50 years of liberation of the South and national reunification.
Those rich activities among the youth are a vivid manifestation of the national spirit. Understanding and being proud of the value of the historic victory on April 30, 1975, means that the young generation has understood another shining truth. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that the young generation is proud but not vague or lose vigilance. They are always aware of the plots and distortions of hostile forces about the value and great significance of this historic victory, in order to have appropriate protection struggles, so that the spirit of victory on April 30, 1975 will forever be immortal.
