Sconnect has just announced the Sconnect Academy of Media Arts (SAMA) on January 24, 2024. This is the first animation and game training academy in Vietnam.
After 65 years of development, the Vietnamese animation industry still faces many challenges in increasing growth rate and proving the economic and non-economic efficiency of the industry. However, in recent years, after the events of the Covid-19 pandemic, the entertainment trend has increased, entertainment platforms have made great strides, and the animation industry has many opportunities to develop strongly. Typically, the emergence of studios with high-quality product ecosystems recognized in the national and international markets.
Along with that development process, Sconnect Academy of Media Arts was born to bring more open opportunities for young people who are passionate about animation and games in Vietnam, contributing to the field of digital content creation, nurturing high-quality human resources. Creating a solid knowledge foundation for the young generation in creating content products with cultural and educational values, spreading positive values to the community.
Sharing about the development orientation of the Academy, Ms. Vu Thuong, Director of SAMA said: “Today’s ceremony has great significance in the development journey of Sconnect Academy of Media Arts. It is not only an event marking the official launch of the SAMA brand in the market but also an opportunity to promote the close connection between the Academy and agencies and units in the creative industry group, initially building a strong educational ecosystem in the future”.
Sconnect Vietnam is one of the leading enterprises in domestic animation, while affirming its solid position in the international market. SAMA's development is considered the company's strategic goal in Vietnam, connecting and creating deeper connections for the animation industry.
SAMA aims to provide an educational experience with comprehensive development values including skills, thinking and knowledge. The Academy has identified 2024 as a pivotal year to create a breakthrough, towards completing the long-term goal of building an international standard educational environment for Vietnamese students.
SAMA's training program is designed for 2 faculties with 7 majors: Animation Production as the core faculty and Game Design Faculty. All students participate in a semester of foundation knowledge before choosing to apply or take the entrance exam for a major.
In addition, the Academy still maintains short-term study programs, professional training courses and corporate training programs for personnel and units that need to improve their capacity to serve the work requirements of individuals or groups.
Regarding the new training program, Mr. Luka Trinh, Academic Director of the academy said: “SAMA builds a curriculum that emphasizes creativity and aesthetic sense. We help students be prepared in terms of knowledge, foreign language ability, professional skills and artistic sense so that they can practice and enter the global labor market, aiming for success right from the first lessons.”
In the coming time, in addition to professional training, Sconnect Academy of Media Arts will continue to implement academic extracurricular activities and programs with connecting values to spread creativity to the young generation, helping them confidently reach their passion.
