First time directly electing ward Party Secretary

(NLDO) - Binh Tho is the only ward in Thu Duc City to elect the ward Party Secretary directly at the congress.

On January 11, the Party Committee of Binh Tho Ward (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) held the 7th Congress of Delegates, term 2025-2030.

This is one of three wards in Thu Duc City chosen to organize a model congress of the grassroots Party Committee. Of which, Binh Tho is the only ward in Thu Duc City to directly elect the Party Secretary of the ward at the congress.

During the past term, the economic sector of Binh Tho ward developed in the right direction, in line with the development of the locality. In particular, the revenue from ordinances and mobilization from the people was deployed, achieved and exceeded the set targets. Total tax revenue reached 73.16 billion VND (target 61.49 billion VND); on average, the annual revenue reached and exceeded 10%.

Binh Tho has maintained its status as a civilized urban ward for 4 consecutive years, 100% of neighborhoods have achieved the status of cultural neighborhoods (exceeding 25% of the target), and 98.9% of households have met the standards of cultural families.

Binh Tho Ward has 8 recognized cultural highlights and 10 newly registered cultural highlights; maintaining the Medical Station meeting the standards of civilized medical ethics, Binh Tho Trade and Service Cooperative achieving the title of civilized commercial market.

Party building work in Binh Tho ward has achieved many results. The organization of the political system from the ward to the residential area and residential groups has been arranged, consolidated and gradually streamlined over the years. Many good and creative models and practices in the movements have been strongly directed towards the grassroots with the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit".

Standing Deputy Secretary of Thu Duc City Party Committee Tran Quoc Trung requested Binh Tho ward to pay attention to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

Speaking at the congress, Deputy Secretary of Thu Duc City Party Committee Tran Quoc Trung suggested that in the coming term, Binh Tho Ward Party Committee should exploit its potentials and advantages, attract economic sectors and investment resources for economic development, in which trade and services are the key sectors. Along with economic development, we must continue to pay more attention to cultural and social development, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Binh Tho Ward Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term with 13 members.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hong, Secretary of the Binh Tho Ward Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, was directly elected by delegates to hold the position of Secretary of the Binh Tho Ward Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Organize 1 cultural and sports activity each month to serve the people.

The Congress also set out many important targets for the 2025-2030 term. In particular, the progress of disbursement of capital for basic construction investment from the annual budget strives to reach over 95%.

Ensure collection and transportation of 100% of regular solid waste, hazardous waste, and medical waste; 100% of households pay garbage collection service fees.

Strive to maintain the title of "Clean, green and environmentally friendly ward" according to the criteria of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Strive to complete the poverty reduction target 1 year ahead of schedule according to the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction of Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2026 - 2030.

By 2030, 100% of neighborhoods will have a cultural and sports activity center; each month, organize a cultural and sports activity to serve local people.

The rate of timely settlement of administrative records reaches 99% or more in each field.
