The North-South expressway routes facilitate people's travel and open up development opportunities for localities in Ha Tinh.
The North-South Expressway project in the East through Ha Tinh is under construction.
The North-South Eastern Expressway through Ha Tinh has a total length of 107.28 km and is being implemented with 4 component projects in 2 phases 2017-2020 (Dien Chau - Bai Vot Expressway, section through Ha Tinh, 4.9 km long) and 2021-2025 (Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Vung Ang - Bung, 102.38 km long).
According to the approved design documents, the expressway through Ha Tinh is arranged with 6 interchanges connecting with local roads.
The intersection area between Km479+394 and National Highway 8 in Yen Ho commune, Duc Tho district.
These intersections are at Km479+394 with National Highway 8 in Yen Ho commune, Duc Tho district; Km494+548 with Provincial Road 548 in Trung Loc commune, Can Loc district; Km509+825 with Provincial Road DT.550 in Luu Vinh Son commune, Thach Ha district; Km527+580 connecting with National Highway 1 via the connecting route in Cam Quan commune, Cam Xuyen district; Km555+509 in Ky Trung commune, Ky Anh district and Km568+126 with National Highway 12C in Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district.
Deputy Director of the Department of Transport Le Anh Son said: Based on the quantity, location, and distance according to Vietnam's standard regulations on expressways, the arrangement of intersections with the local road system in Ha Tinh is appropriate, meeting the connection needs of localities from urban areas, industrial parks, tourist areas, new urban areas, seaports, and international border gates.
The intersection between Km494+548 of the North-South Expressway and Provincial Road 548 in Trung Loc Commune, Can Loc District is under construction.
Further explaining the connectivity of the intersections with the local road system of Ha Tinh, Mr. Le Anh Son informed: the intersection between Km479+394 of the expressway and National Highway 8 in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district was fully invested in the Dien Chau - Bai Vot component project (phase 2017 - 2020) and Bai Vot - Ham Nghi (phase 2021 - 2025), expected to be completed in May 2024.
When completed, this intersection will help connect the North-South Expressway with Hong Linh Town and Duc Tho, Huong Son, Vu Quang districts and Cau Treo International Border Gate via National Highway 8.
Or the intersection between Km568+126 of the expressway and National Highway 12C in Ky Tan Commune, Ky Anh District, which has been fully invested in the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang component project (phase 2021 - 2025). The intersection contributes to conveniently connecting Vung Ang Economic Zone, Ky Anh Town center and National Highway 1 via National Highway 12C.
Currently, the Ministry of Transport is also proposing to invest in upgrading and expanding National Highway 12C from Vung Ang to Ho Chi Minh Road under the project to upgrade and improve national highways connecting to Laos, using loans from the World Bank (WB). If the project is implemented, it will further facilitate traffic and connection between regions and areas across the country with Ha Tinh.
The North-South Expressway through Ha Tinh has 6 intersections with the local road system.
“The locations of the expressway intersections through Ha Tinh have been integrated into the provincial planning, regional planning and other related planning. The Provincial People's Committee has also assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to develop construction zoning plans to promote the efficiency of land exploitation and improve state management at intersections,” said Deputy Director of the Department of Transport Le Anh Son.
According to the Department of Transport, in order to maximize the investment efficiency of the North-South expressway and facilitate connection, serve the travel needs of people conveniently and safely, respond to the increase in traffic volume and the development of residential, commercial and service areas in the area when the project is completed, the Provincial People's Committee has proposed to the Ministry of Transport to consider and propose investment in 5 more connecting routes in the province.
During a trip to inspect the progress of the North-South expressway project through Ha Tinh on September 20, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho also visited the locations where the province proposed to invest in connecting roads.
Of these, there are 2 projects related to the intersection at Km527+580 in Cam Quan commune, Cam Xuyen district, 1 project on the intersection at Km494+548 intersecting with provincial road DT.548 in Trung Loc commune, Can Loc district and 2 projects on the intersection at Km555+509 in Ky Trung commune, Ky Anh district.
According to initial calculations, the investment cost for these 5 routes is about 682 billion VND, taken from the capital source of the North-South Eastern Expressway project in the 2021-2025 period.
