Celebrating Thailand's National Day in Ho Chi Minh City

On the evening of December 2, the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to celebrate the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand (December 5, 1927 - December 5, 2024), Father's Day and commemorate the birthday of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Consul General of Thailand Wiraka Moodhitaporn and the dance group of the Thai Studies Department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM

Speaking at the Thailand National Day celebration, Thai Consul General Wiraka Moodhitaporn affirmed that Thailand continues to be Vietnam's leading trade partner and maintains its position in the top 10 largest foreign investors here.

According to the Consul General, 2025 promises to open a new and promising chapter in Vietnam-Thailand relations. Both countries are committed to working together to elevate the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with an ambitious target of reaching 25 billion USD in bilateral trade.

The Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and Thai government agencies are also preparing for activities to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations with Vietnam, towards the 50th anniversary in 2026. Within this framework, the "Thai Festival Week in Ho Chi Minh City" will be the first kick-off event next year, opening a series of activities throughout the year, according to Ms. Wiraka.

Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, representing the city's leaders and people attended the congratulations.

She encouraged Thai investors to continue contributing to Vietnam's socio-economic development while maintaining corporate social responsibility principles.

For his part, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, commented that the Vietnam-Thailand relationship will continue to make many important strides in 2024. The two countries will not only strengthen their strategic partnership, but also expand cooperation in many important areas.

He said Thailand is currently one of the City’s important partners, especially in the fields of trade, investment, culture and tourism. Cultural events and people-to-people exchanges between Thailand in the city have created deep understanding and connection between the people of the two countries.

Ho Chi Minh City appreciates the contributions of the Thai community in the city and believes that this relationship will continue to be strengthened and developed in the coming time, according to Mr. Hoan.

Sharing with Thanh Nien Newspaper , Consul General Wiraka said that the Thai dishes selected to be served at the ceremony all came from three restaurants that were honored to receive the prestigious "Thai Select" certificate. She was also open to opportunities to cooperate with Thanh Nien Newspaper in the future.
