Celebrating 20 years of Quang Ninh Tourism Association

On January 16, in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Tourism Association held a ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary (2004-2024).

In August 2004, Quang Ninh was one of the first localities in the country to establish the Provincial Tourism Association. Over the past two decades, from 54 members in the initial two travel and hotel associations, the Association has now grown to 850 members in 11 associations and clubs.

Uniting to overcome challenges from economic fluctuations, epidemics, and natural disasters, Quang Ninh Tourism Association has promoted its role in coordinating the network of tourism businesses, and at the same time, is a bridge between member businesses and authorities at all levels, proactively advising on policies to support and develop tourism.

Up to now, Quang Ninh is one of the leading provinces in the country in tourism development with 2,246 accommodation establishments with over 44,800 rooms; 504 cruise ships, of which 177 have rooms for accommodation in Ha Long Bay. Currently, the whole province has 170 travel agencies and branches operating in Quang Ninh, of which there are more than 70 international travel agencies.

Representatives of the Tourism Association and some branches received certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee.

Over the years, Quang Ninh tourism businesses have made constant efforts and developed. Tourism products are increasingly diverse and attractive, making Quang Ninh a key tourist destination of the country. Promotional activities have been stepped up with the active participation of the Provincial Tourism Association and member businesses, helping to attract more tourists to Quang Ninh.

In 2003, Quang Ninh welcomed 2.5 million visitors; by 2024, this number had increased to a record 19 million. Tourism revenue has increased many times, aiming to become a tourism center connecting the region and the world.

The results achieved are a solid foundation for Quang Ninh Tourism Association to continue to maintain its role as a solid support for association members, contributing to the strong development of Quang Ninh tourism.

In the new development phase, Quang Ninh Tourism Association will continue to innovate its activities, promote gathering and connecting to build tourism civilization, develop sustainable and responsible tourism, create value chains to make tourism a spearhead economic sector, and build Quang Ninh into a tourism center connecting the region and the world.
