The event attracted a large number of doctors, nurses and medical staff with the aim of equipping them with smartphone photography skills for medical communication work.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Master Do Thi Nam Phuong - Head of the Communication Center, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, emphasized the importance of images in medical communication.
A large number of doctors, nurses and medical staff attended the workshop.
Master Nam Phuong shared: " In the digital age, viewers only take a few seconds to decide whether to continue watching a piece of content or not. Therefore, impressive images and videos are the key factors to attract attention and highlight the message we want to convey. Technique and technology are the means, while visual thinking, camera angle, light and especially emotions will create photos with profound medical communication power. The best camera is the phone right next to us, because it helps us capture the most valuable moments."
Master Vu Hai Son - lecturer of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University, brings an optimistic and emotional perspective on photography with the message "Life is basically fun". Mr. Son shared that "moments captured at the right time not only bring joy to viewers, but also help medical communicators convey positive values to the community".
Master Hai Son also emphasized that his love and attachment to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital motivated him to capture beautiful and meaningful images, contributing to spreading the hospital's humane message, especially the recent heart transplant photo series across Vietnam. He gave 5 important criteria for a complete media photo including: Clear subject, correct light, correct moment, reasonable shooting angle and tight frame. He affirmed that a photo is not only a tool to record images but also a means to convey strong emotions and messages to the community. Love for people is the fundamental factor that helps create deep connections through photos.

Psychologist Dr. Ly Thi Mai, a special guest of the program, was deeply impressed by the meaningful images that Master Hai Son took. "The images that Master Hai Son took not only captured moments but also contained profound humane stories, originating from the soul and professional knowledge of a person working in the medical field and have a value that cannot be fully expressed in words," Dr. Ly Thi Mai shared.
Journalist Duong Thanh Truyen, a guest on the show, shared about the power of images in communication and advertising. He emphasized that images can convey many layers of meaning that sometimes words cannot fully express. A photo not only helps viewers perceive information but also evokes emotions, stimulates imagination, and creates multi-dimensional feelings and thoughts. He also emphasized that in advertising, images without accompanying words can still create strong connections and free space for viewers to build their own stories.
The seminar series will end with topic number 10 "Skills in filming media clips using smartphones" scheduled to take place at 2:00 p.m. on September 27 at University Medical Center.
