Father's Lie is Tung Duong's second collaboration with musician Dong Thien Duc. The song was arranged by musician Nguyen Huu Vuong, he used cello to create a calm, sad feeling as well as the strings to push the intense climax at the end of the song.

Previously, the hit "A Round of Vietnam" was the first collaboration between Tung Duong and Dong Thien Duc. He said that this was a work he wrote specifically for Tung Duong. This came after hearing Tung Duong talk about his father-son relationship during a meeting. ''I wrote this song for Tung Duong because I knew he would use his pent-up emotions to tear apart the hidden emotions in the lyrics and melody of the song,'' musician Dong Thien Duc said.

Experience fatherly love with Tung Duong

Tung Duong himself also sympathizes with Dong Thien Duc about the experiences of fatherhood. "I am a father and so is Dong Thien Duc, the common point between us is that we both love and are responsible for taking care of our children," Tung Duong said.

According to Tung Duong, the experience of being a father helped him understand the mission of the man who is the pillar of the family, especially understanding how his father sacrificed and saved for his children, to the point that he forgot all about his youth. Before that, Tung Duong's father had gone to Russia for more than ten years to take care of the family. Tung Duong always remembers his father's words: "Your parents traveled like this just to take care of your future."

"Back then, there was no email or phone, so my father often wrote letters home by hand. Every time I read his instructions and his longing to return home soon, I cried. When I was young, I didn't understand why my parents had to go so far away from me. Later, I realized and loved them more," singer Tung Duong shared.

Regarding his experience as a father, Tung Duong also shared for the first time that he and his wife adopted a son, who they named Soc at home. "Soc is a new member of my family. He is like a destiny that God has given to Tung Duong and his wife. Last year, through a friend in a volunteer group, we learned about Soc's special circumstances and adopted him," Tung Duong said.

Tung Duong also said that his 9-year-old son - Voi - also acts like a brother and is more mature when having Soc. "I think that I consider my children (my wife's stepchildren or adopted children) as my own because it is the most wonderful, meaningful and sacred thing," Tung Duong confided.
