Inspection and treatment of metal plating facilities in residential areas

DNO - On December 14, some localities reported the results of inspections and handling of establishments with electroplating activities in industries prohibited from production in residential areas according to Decision No. 39/QD-UBND dated October 29, 2014 of the People's Committee of Da Nang City.

According to the People's Committee of Khue Trung Ward (Cam Le District), after receiving a citizen's petition regarding the activities of the facility at 78 Trinh Dinh Thao causing environmental pollution affecting the residential area, the People's Committee of the ward inspected the site and worked with the owner of the facility.

According to records, this facility has metal plating and metal surface polishing machines in closed rooms.

At the meeting, the owner of the facility, Mr. Nguyen Thanh An, provided a business registration certificate for the business of motorbike repair and motorbike spare parts trading, which was not consistent with the current operations at the facility and could not provide documents related to environmental protection.

After discussing and explaining issues related to the type of business, environmental records and the owner's opinions, Khue Trung Ward People's Committee requested Mr. Nguyen Thanh An to cease operations and relocate the facility from the locality. Mr. An agreed to cease operations immediately.

According to the People's Committee of Thanh Khe Tay Ward (Thanh Khe District), immediately after receiving feedback from residents about metal plating activities at house number 47 Bau Trang 5 causing concerns about environmental impacts, the ward inspected and worked with the homeowner.

Currently, the owner has removed the signboard and committed to stop operating the metal plating and metal surface polishing business here.

The People's Committee of Hoa Son Commune (Hoa Vang District) has just issued Report No. 1081/BC-UBND dated December 12, 2023 to the People's Committee of Hoa Vang District on the results of handling information reflecting on screw plating activities, causing environmental pollution and toxicity at Group 1, An Ngai Dong Village (Hoa Son Commune).

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Hoa Son commune and the People's Committee of An Ngai Dong village inspected the actual operation of the facility at Mr. Nguyen Dang Minh's house and found that this facility was polishing bronze incense burners and motorbike spare parts...

At this facility, rusty parts are washed with clean water and chlorine water, then polished. However, this facility has been operating for 10 years and has a business registration license issued by the People's Committee of Hoa Vang district.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Hoa Son commune reports to the People's Committee of Hoa Vang district and asks for instructions on how to handle this facility for implementation.
