Information from Soc Son district shows that there are currently more than 90 homestays operating in the tourism business, providing accommodation for tourists. After inspecting a number of homestays in Soc Son district, the authorities discovered that some establishments did not have certificates of meeting security and order conditions.
At the same time, the Department of Tourism has not yet issued a decision to recognize the accommodation with rooms for tourists to rent as meeting the accommodation business standards according to the provisions of the Tourism Law. Some homestay accommodation businesses have not strictly complied with the regulations in declaring temporary residence for domestic and international tourists.
Actual inspections show that most homestay businesses are only interested in economic benefits and have not paid attention to properly implementing their responsibilities in guiding tourists to comply with legal regulations.
In addition, most homestay businesses are directly operated, managed and served by freelance workers who have not been trained in tourism expertise, foreign languages, safety, fire prevention, environmental protection, food hygiene and safety, etc. Therefore, it is easy for complicated problems to arise related to the safety of health, life and property of tourists.
To improve the effectiveness of managing homestay accommodation businesses, thereby promoting the development of the capital's tourism economy, the inspection team requires tourism accommodation service businesses to have plans to train and recruit service staff in accordance with regulations.
At the same time, be proactive in the recruitment, training and retraining of tourism human resources at the unit, using the workforce to ensure professional standards in accordance with regulations. Supplement equipment and signs for fire prevention and fighting, rescue and emergency rescue in entertainment areas, adventure sports, swimming pools, etc.
In addition, the commune and district police force has increased inspections of temporary residence and absence registration for tourists, thereby ensuring security and order in the area and safety for tourists. "This inspection aims to improve service quality, detect and prevent violations in tourism business activities, create a favorable investment and business environment, thereby restoring and promoting comprehensive, fast and sustainable tourism development in the capital" - Chief Inspector of the Department of Tourism Vu Cong Huy affirmed.
