The information was given at the Conference of the Government Standing Committee working with leaders of large private sector enterprises: Vin Group, Hoa Phat, Thaco, KN Holdings, Sun, T&T, Geleximco, Minh Phu, Masan, Sovico, TH, Refrigeration Electrical Engineering (REE) on solutions to contribute to socio-economic development.
The meeting took place on the morning of September 21 at the Government Headquarters under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Also attending the conference were Deputy Prime Ministers: Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Ho Duc Phoc; leaders of ministries, branches and central agencies.
In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that since the beginning of his tenure, the Government has held many meetings with domestic and foreign enterprises, especially during the period of economic and social recovery and development after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, this is the first thematic meeting to be held and the agencies will continue to research and advise on the organization of subsequent thematic conferences.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the conference demonstrated the attention of Party and State leaders to private enterprises and the private economic sector. The Resolution of the 12th National Congress, Resolution of the 10th Central Committee, and Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress all emphasized that the private economy is "an important driving force of the economy".
To date, according to reports, the private economy contributes 45% of GDP, 40% of total social investment capital, creates 85% of jobs for the total workforce, accounts for 35% of import turnover and 25% of export turnover. Vietnam has had private corporations reaching out to the region and the world.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses have made positive and effective contributions to help the whole nation overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, control the epidemic, and quickly bring our country back to normal.
In the context of the pandemic, fierce strategic competition, conflicts taking place in many places, broken supply chains, production chains affecting the world economy and Vietnam's economy, businesses have affirmed their role in restoring and developing the economy - society. Currently, Vietnam's GDP scale ranks 34th in the world, our country has never had the foundation, potential, position and international prestige as today.
This is the result of great efforts of the entire people under the leadership of the Party and management of the State, including important contributions from businesses, including private enterprises.
The Prime Minister also said that he clearly felt the participation of businesses in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and floods such as the recent super typhoon Yagi. Vietnam is one of the five countries most affected by climate change, strongly promoting the spirit of mutual love, national love, and compatriotism.
However, we still face many difficulties, the scale of the economy is still modest, and the average income per capita is not high.

In the context of preparing to summarize 40 years of renovation, the country is in a period of transformation, the Prime Minister hopes that businesses, especially successful businesses, continue to promote patriotism, love for the people, national sentiment, solidarity, self-reliance, historical traditions, cultural heritage - a fulcrum of the country, to work together, win together, enjoy together, develop together, promote their role, overcome difficulties and challenges, and contribute to the country.
The Prime Minister emphasized the view that "resources come from thinking and vision, motivation comes from innovation, strength comes from people and businesses.
According to the Prime Minister, we must have breakthroughs in the coming period to bring the country into a new era, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and moving towards the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country.
The Prime Minister said that the recent 10th Central Conference discussed breakthrough orientations in national development in the coming period, such as institutional breakthroughs, renewing old growth drivers and promoting new growth drivers on the basis of applying science, technology, and innovation; building strategic infrastructure projects, symbols of national development such as the high-speed railway on the North-South axis...; implementing social security programs such as eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide from now until 2025, striving to have no poor households from now until 2030...; implementing programs and projects to respond to climate change such as population arrangement, migration in areas at risk of flash floods, landslides, responding to drought, salinity, subsidence, and landslides in the Mekong Delta...
