News from the Investigation Security Agency of Bac Lieu Provincial Police on February 8 said that the unit has just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Danh Thi Mau (52 years old, residing in Hoa Binh Town, Hoa Binh District, Bac Lieu) to investigate the act of human trafficking.
The Security Investigation Agency implemented the decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Danh Thi Mau.
According to police records, in 2013, Mau colluded with several others to find Vietnamese women who wanted to marry Chinese men and then organized their illegal exit to make illegal profits.
Mau played a direct role in finding and luring women from difficult circumstances to organize marriages in China with the hope of "changing their lives". For each woman after being brought to China, Mau's group paid the victim's family from 70 to 150 million VND.
When they found women who wanted to marry Chinese men, Mau took them to the border area so that his accomplices could organize illegal exit. Depending on the age and appearance of each woman, the Chinese men would pay Mau's group from 300 to 600 million VND per case.
However, after marrying Chinese men, some women were beaten and abused. If they wanted to return to Vietnam, their families had to return all the money they had previously received.
From 2013 until his arrest, Mau and his accomplices organized for more than 100 women to illegally leave the country for China, illegally profiting billions of dong.
The above human trafficking case is being further investigated and handled by the Investigation Security Agency of Bac Lieu Provincial Police according to the provisions of law.
