On January 10, the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son District inaugurated and opened the statue of the famous professor, academician, Major General Tran Dai Nghia.
The statue of famous person Tran Dai Nghia has a height of 2 m, width of 1.2 m, depth of 1 m; the base is 2.2 m high, width of 1.5 m, depth of 1.2 m; solemnly installed in the walking garden park at the intersection of Tran Dai Nghia - Huynh Ba Chanh street (Hoa Hai ward, Ngu Hanh Son district).
The statue was erected on the street named after the first and most typical labor hero of the country, aiming to create a red address, enriching the glorious cultural and historical traditions of Ngu Hanh Son District to educate history for students.

On this occasion, Ngu Hanh Son District also presented a plaque of recognition for the Golden Heart to Mr. Nguyen Loi, owner of Nguyen Loi fine art stone sculpture establishment, the sponsor of the fabrication and installation of the statue of the famous person Tran Dai Nghia.
This is the 11th statue of famous people erected on the streets of Ngu Hanh Son District. The statues erected on the previous streets include the following famous people: Vo Nguyen Giap, Le Van Hien, Ho Xuan Huong, Su Van Hanh, Mai Dang Chon, Huyen Tran Princess, Tran Dai Nghia, Minh Mang, Vo Chi Cong, Nguyen Duy Trinh, Phan Tu.
In addition, there is also a signboard of the place name Ngu Hanh Son.
Delegates inaugurated the project
The works were made by Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village (Ngu Hanh Son District) to promote the hundreds of years of tradition of the craft village and honor stone sculptors.
Hero of Labor, professor, academician, Major General Tran Dai Nghia's real name is Pham Quang Le (1913 - 1997), hometown Tam Binh district (Vinh Long), had an excellent academic record in natural sciences. After 11 years of studying and working in France, he followed the call of President Ho Chi Minh in 1946 and returned home to serve the revolution.
Uncle Ho gave him a new name, Tran Dai Nghia, and assigned him to be the Director of the Military Ordnance Department (now the General Department of Defense Industry).
In 1948, he was promoted to Major General, one of the first 11 generals of the Vietnam People's Army and one of the first 3 people to be awarded the title of Vietnam's first Labor Hero in 1952.

Inauguration of Uncle Ho's statue with border guards
Previously, at the end of December 2024, Phu Loc Border Guard Station (Da Nang City Border Guard Command) inaugurated a statue of Uncle Ho with border guards on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.
The statue of Uncle Ho with the border guard is made of a monolithic stone, weighs 1.5 tons, is 1.27 m high, 1 m wide, the total height of the statue and base is 3.83 meters.

The front of the pedestal is engraved with a poem that Uncle Ho presented to officers and soldiers at the first emulation congress of the People's Armed Police Force (now the Border Guard) on March 2, 1962 in Hanoi.
The statue is modeled after the work "Listen to the mountains and rivers" by author Vu Trong Khoi, depicting the image of Uncle Ho kindly instructing the border soldiers to cherish and protect every inch of the border land, determined to preserve the entire country's borders.
