Send a message that Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa is friendly and hospitable
On the morning of February 10 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism coordinated with Cam Ranh International Airport and Vietnam Airlines Nha Trang Branch to organize a ceremony to welcome the first flight of the Lunar New Year 2024.
With the presence of leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, Department of Tourism, Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association and representatives of departments and branches, at exactly 8:00 a.m., flight number VN1340 of Vietnam Airlines departed from Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) with more than 100 passengers landed at Cam Ranh International Airport.
The first guests arriving at Cam Ranh airport were presented with flowers and gifts by leaders of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and Tourism Department.
Provincial leaders and departments, branches and units presented gifts to 3 lucky guests who were randomly selected. Cam Ranh International Airport also performed a lion dance and presented gifts to passengers at the reception hall of the Domestic Terminal - T1.
It is known that during the Tet holiday, there will be about 1,135 flights arriving and departing through Cam Ranh International Airport.
Of which, there are 550 domestic flights with more than 90,000 passengers (equivalent to the number of passengers in 2023) and about 585 international flights (an increase of 130% over the same period in 2023) with about 98,357 passengers (an increase of 110% over the same period in 2023).
Leaders of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches and units took souvenir photos with tourists who "first visited" Khanh Hoa by air.
Of which, there are about 20 flights/day from China to Cam Ranh, about 18 - 19 flights/day from Korea to Cam Ranh...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, said that the ceremony to welcome the first flight of the Lunar New Year is an annual activity of Khanh Hoa Tourism, aiming to send domestic and international tourists a message about a friendly and hospitable Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.
"This activity creates a vibrant atmosphere for Khanh Hoa tourism right from the beginning of the year, encouraging the spirit of businesses towards a 2024 with many new successes for the province's tourism industry.
The event of welcoming the first flight of the year of the Dragon also promotes the relationship between state agencies and aviation service businesses to contribute to the development of Khanh Hoa province's tourism industry," said Ms. Thanh.
In 2024, there will be about 9 million overnight guests.
According to statistics from the Khanh Hoa provincial tourism industry, the number of tourists in 2023 is equivalent to the time before the Covid-19 pandemic (in 2019, with 7 million visitors) but tourism revenue is about 15% higher.
That achievement is thanks to Khanh Hoa organizing many events and implementing many solutions to stimulate demand and attract tourists.
Highlights include tourism activities in response to the 370th anniversary of the province’s establishment and development, the Sea Festival, and the program of tourism development through cinema in Khanh Hoa. Businesses have invested, launched new tourism products, organized attractive sports events, etc.
Some lucky passengers on the flight received gifts from Khanh Hoa province leaders when arriving in Cam Ranh on the first day of the Lunar New Year.
In addition, the tourism industry promotes domestic and international promotion to diversify tourist sources and attract visitors to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.
