Opening of the Ooc Om Boc Festival

In order to preserve and promote the traditional cultural identity of the Khmer people, tonight, November 25, Soc Trang province organized the opening ceremony of the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Racing in Soc Trang province in 2023 with the theme "Soc Trang - Aspiration to Reach Far".

This is a major cultural event, an annual activity, and has long become a typical cultural and tourism product of Soc Trang province.

The Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Race in Soc Trang Province in 2023 aims to honor the traditional cultural beauty of the Khmer people, meeting the aspirations and needs of the cultural and spiritual life of the ethnic groups in the province in general and the Khmer people in particular. Soc Trang Province hopes that through the festival, it will diversify the activities to stimulate, promote and promote tourism in the province. Thereby, attracting and mobilizing resources to invest in developing tourism infrastructure; raising public awareness of tourism development, encouraging and supporting people to participate in tourism activities.

At the Opening Ceremony, the Vietnam Record Organization awarded the Decision and Certificate of Vietnam Record to Soc Trang province for the largest mosaic painting with the theme "Rice plants past and present" made from ST25 rice in Vietnam.

Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Racing in Soc Trang province takes place in Soc Trang city with activities such as: Ngo boat racing; Moon worshiping ceremony; Loi Protip performance (Releasing water lanterns) and Ca Hau boats; Fair to promote trade of OCOP products, regional specialties and Conference on trade, connecting supply and demand of goods in Soc Trang province; Street food festival "Soc Trang flavor"; Artistic photo exhibition; Khmer language television singing festival in the Southern region.
