Opening of children's story telling contest based on books

On the morning of December 4, at Lam Son Theater, the Provincial Library opened the 2024 children's storytelling contest based on books.

Attending the contest were representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Information and Communications; a large number of officials, teachers and students from 27 districts, towns and cities in the province.

Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Library Le Thien Duong delivered the opening speech of the contest.

The 2024 Children's Storytelling Contest with the theme: "Thanh Hoa - My Homeland" attracted the participation of 28 teams representing primary and secondary schools, education and training departments of 27 districts, towns and cities.

The teams went through 3 rounds: Introducing the team; telling stories based on books; talent. Through each round, the teams brought unique performances, elaborately invested in combining singing, playing instruments, flutes, and accompanying dances to introduce good books; praise the Party, beloved Uncle Ho, love, homeland, country, historical and cultural traditions of Thanh people; about the morality of drinking water and remembering its source; examples of good people and good deeds in studying, working, living, building and protecting the homeland and country...

The contest is organized to promote the building and development of reading culture, making the reading movement and following books a habit, a beautiful cultural feature among teenagers and children. At the same time, it is an opportunity for children to review the tradition of patriotism, national pride, gratitude to the Party and Uncle Ho, love for the homeland and country, especially the historical and cultural traditions of Thanh Hoa people, the morality of drinking water remembering its source, the spirit of overcoming difficulties in studying and training of teenagers and children. Thereby, helping children to appreciate and promote historical values, foster patriotism, national pride, honor the heroic martyrs, and wounded soldiers who sacrificed their blood for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland; raise awareness of studying, training, cultivating morality, striving to be worthy of the previous generation, at the same time, have a deeper awareness of the heroic historical and cultural traditions of the nation, of the land and people of Thanh Hoa.

This is also a playground for children to express their talents, ability to perceive literary works, storytelling skills, and public speaking. From there, it will form a habit of reading passion, life skills, raise awareness of self-study, self-training, contribute to building a learning society and promote the development of reading culture in the whole province.

The 2024 Children's Storytelling Contest will take place on December 4 and 5, 2024. The closing ceremony is expected to take place on the afternoon of December 5. The Organizing Committee will award 58 main prizes and 3 special prizes to the competing teams.
