Connect, converge and spread

In Hai Phong City, the Vietnam Mai Family Business Association has just held its first Congress with the participation of nearly 400 businessmen from all over the country.

The Vietnam Mai Business Association (formerly known as the Vietnam Mai Business Club) is a community of businesses and businessmen with the Mai family in the whole country with the goal of: Cooperating and sharing information among businessmen in the family, thereby carrying out the mission of "Connecting - Converging - Spreading" to promote cooperation between businesses in the fields of economics, science and technology, contributing to the cause of economic and social development of the country.

The 1st Congress of Mai Family in Vietnam was held on April 10, 2022. Over the past 2 years, the activities of the Mai Family business community in Vietnam have increasingly affirmed its role and position in the business community of the whole country. The business community has developed in many aspects, operating in many economic fields, meeting the requirements of business development in the new period. In addition, the increasing number of established businesses has contributed positively to the economic development of localities and the country, creating many jobs for society and contributing to the State budget.

Entrepreneurs in the Association have also actively implemented the policies of the Party and State, promoting the responsibility of entrepreneurs to society.

Among the businessmen with the surname Mai, there are names that have been honored domestically and internationally, typically: Businessman Dr. Mai Huu Tin, founder of U&I Investment Joint Stock Company investing in many fields; Businessman Mai Kieu Lien - General Director and Member of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company; Businessman Mai Xuan Thong - Chairman of Central Construction Group; Businessman Mai Thu Huyen, film producer, director; Businessman Mai Van Thuan - General Director of Asia Group - Ho Chi Minh City.

In his opening speech, Mr. Mai Huu Tin, Vice President of the Provisional Board of the Vietnam Mai Business Association, shared: “With the spirit of building big goals, all Vietnamese Mai businessmen have united to develop strongly, firmly and comprehensively. The congress will determine the goals for the new term and approve the Charter of organization and operation of the Vietnam Mai Business Council. With the spirit of solidarity and construction, Mai businessmen across the country will develop together.”

To continue promoting and enhancing the role of the Mai family businessmen, at this Congress, the delegates elected an Executive Committee of 45 businessmen and Mr. Mai Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hai Dang Tourism Group Joint Stock Company, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Mai Family Businessmen Association.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Mai Xuan Thang, the new Chairman of the Vietnam Mai Family Entrepreneurs Association, said: “On October 10, 2023, the Politburo issued Resolution 41-NQ/TW-2023 on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new era. On May 9, 2024, the Government issued Resolution 66/NQ-CP/2024 on the Government's action program to implement Resolution 41 of the Politburo. This is the basis for the Mai family entrepreneurs, together with the Vietnamese business community, to effectively implement Resolution 41-NQ/TW of 2023 of the Politburo “On building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new era” and the Resolution of the 1st Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Mai Family (Term 2022 - 2027)”.

Within the framework of the Congress, the delegates deeply evaluated and reviewed the activities of the Vietnam Mai Business Association over the past 2 years. In addition to the positive aspects of its activities, the Association also pointed out the limitations of the Mai Business Associations at all levels nationwide. From there, new goals and directions were set for the development of the Vietnam Mai Business Community in the period 2024-2029.

For the 2024-2029 term, the Vietnam Mai Business Association chose the theme "Connection - Convergence - Spread" with the mission of strengthening solidarity, dynamism and creativity, enhancing the role and quality of activities of the Mai business community. Aiming to complete the goal: Developing a large-scale, capable and qualified Vietnamese Mai business community to contribute more to the development of the country's economy and society.

The Association has set a key task during its term as striving to build "Vietnamese Mai businessmen who are good at doing business, have the sentiment and responsibility to contribute to building the Vietnamese Mai family to become stronger and stronger".

45 entrepreneurs were elected to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Mai Family Entrepreneurs Association at the 1st Congress.

According to Mr. Mai Xuan Thang, in the 2024 - 2029 term, the Vietnam Mai Business Association will focus on implementing specific key tasks such as: Focusing on innovating the content and methods of operation to gather a large number of Vietnamese Mai businessmen. Encouraging the businessmen to complete their production and business tasks well, contributing to the cause of building and developing the country.

Strengthening cooperation with businesses, especially those with regional and global reach, to attract entrepreneurs with heart, vision, and talent to serve the Fatherland and the Mai family in Vietnam. Continuing to promote cultural, social, and charitable activities, attracting a large number of members, entrepreneurs, and businesses of the Mai family to participate.

In addition, expand foreign affairs activities, international cooperation, etc. Promote training, career guidance, and start-up activities within the family. Strengthen coordination and exchange with Business Associations of other provinces and cities across the country.

The Association also established the annual Mai An Tiem award to honor outstanding Mai businessmen who have made many contributions and dedication to the country's economic development.
