According to the statement, Israel will temporarily allow humanitarian aid to be delivered through the port of Ashdod, about 40 kilometers north of Gaza, and the Erez border crossing to prevent catastrophic levels of famine. In addition, Israel may also allow increased aid from Jordan through the Kerem Shalom border crossing in southern Israel.
