According to a new report from analyst Jeff Pu, the iPhone 17 series is expected to receive a major upgrade in terms of selfie cameras from Apple, with the resolution doubling to 24 MP compared to current iPhone models. This is said to apply to all versions of the iPhone 17 series, including the iPhone 17 Slim, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
This information is not entirely new, as in January this year, famous analyst Ming-chi Kuo predicted that at least one iPhone 17 model would have a 24 MP front camera. However, the latest report from Jeff Pu has reinforced the reliability of this statement.
24 MP camera will help you take sharper photos with iPhone 17
In addition, according to Jeff Pu, the front camera of the iPhone 17 series will be equipped with a 6-element plastic lens, while the current 12 MP TrueDepth camera of the iPhone 15 only uses a 5-element lens. This could be one of the major improvements in image quality, helping the iPhone 17 score points in the eyes of consumers.
According to recent leaks, Apple is developing the iPhone 17 Slim version to replace the iPhone Plus line. With a thinner and lighter design, the iPhone 17 Slim promises to be Apple's most expensive phone ever.
The Slim version is expected to be equipped with a single rear camera with a resolution of 48 MP produced by Samsung, along with a powerful A19 processor chip and a high-resolution screen of 2,740 x 1,260 pixels. Notably, the entire iPhone 17 series is said to use 2nm chips produced by TSMC, promising to bring superior performance and energy efficiency.
However, there is also information that the iPhone 17 Slim may encounter some problems during the development process and may be discontinued. This is undesirable for Apple, as this version is expected to create a new wave in the smartphone market.
