Tan Lac district exploits tourism development potential

The Muong ethnic group's Khai Ha festival is held annually in Phong Phu commune (Tan Lac) attracting a large number of tourists to learn and explore.

In the area, there are many scenic spots recognized as national monuments such as: Thac Bo cave, Hoa Tien cave, Bung cave (Suoi Hoa commune), Nam Son cave (Van Son commune), Muong Chieng cave, Muoi cave (Man Duc town) and provincial historical - cultural relics: Luy Ai hamlet temple (Phong Phu commune), Cot Co mountain, Trang waterfall (Nhan My commune) ... are places not to be missed for those who love to explore wild nature, experience trekking, camping full of fun. Tan Lac is also a land that preserves unique and special traditional cultural values ​​of the Muong ethnic group. Muong culture is clearly demonstrated through traditional festivals such as: Khai ha Muong Bi festival, Ke pagoda festival, traditional stream fishing festival of Lo Son commune ... not only have spiritual significance, but also are opportunities for visitors to learn more about the customs, beliefs and daily life of local people. In addition, the Muong gong folk performing arts, Muong folk songs, Muong mo, along with traditional costumes and handicrafts such as brocade weaving are also unique cultural features, contributing to creating a distinct attraction for Tan Lac tourism.

With its natural and cultural advantages, Tan Lac district has great potential to develop various types of eco-tourism, cultural tourism, community tourism and experiential tourism. Recently, the operation of Ngoi Hoa - PriorBay Resort eco-tourism area in Suoi Hoa commune with many different resort tourism products has become a prominent destination, creating a special attraction in Hoa Binh lake tourist area.

Along with that, the local government has promoted policies to preserve heritage, upgrade infrastructure, and develop community tourism models to bring the most authentic experiences to visitors. Comrade Bui Minh Hong, Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Tan Lac district, said: The district continues to implement the District Tourism Development Project to 2020, with a vision to 2030 and the province's directive documents related to state management of tourism development; advise the working group to support the implementation of Resolution No. 13-NQ/TU to implement the resolution of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Project to build the highland communes of Tan Lac district into provincial-level tourist areas by 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Since the beginning of the year, the district has continued to maintain existing routes, destinations, and tourism products, and selected investment in building new, inter-regional tourism products, routes, destinations, and tourism programs suitable for the locality; exploited cultural, community, and traditional craft tourism products... Directed communes and towns to implement the district's tourism development plan to attract investment and exploit development potential. Organized tourism promotion programs at traditional festivals; welcomed and introduced the district's tourism potential to delegates from travel agencies nationwide who came to survey investment in tourism products in the district. Promoted propaganda and promotion of cultural and sports events imbued with national identity taking place during the year.

Create favorable conditions for domestic and international tourists to fully access information about Tan Lac tourism. Promote linkage and cooperation activities to develop tourism with provinces and cities across the country to connect tours and routes to bring visitors to tourist destinations in the area; connect tours and routes to expand the domestic and international tourist market.

Thanks to the implementation of many synchronous solutions and effective exploitation of potential, tourism in Tan Lac district has had positive changes. In 2024, the total number of tourists to the district is 294,500 (7,850 international visitors, 286,650 domestic visitors); total tourism revenue reaches 192 billion VND. In the first quarter of 2025, the total number of tourists to the area is 153,230 (4,980 international visitors, 148,250 domestic visitors). In the near future, Tan Lac promises to become an attractive destination - where nature converges, culture shines and unforgettable experiences for domestic and foreign tourists, contributing significantly to the development of the local socio-economy.
