Krong Buk District: 25 more teenagers know how to play gongs

On the afternoon of December 15, the People's Committee of Krong Buk district held a closing ceremony for the 2023 gong and traditional musical instrument class for ethnic minority youth in Kbuor village (Cu Pong commune).

The gong playing class opened on October 23, 2023 with the participation of 25 students who are ethnic minority youth from Kbuor village (Cu Pong commune). The class is held in the evenings from Monday to Friday every week, with 20 sessions.

Students of the gong class perform Ching kram.

During the class, the students were taught basic knowledge and skills on Ching kram and Ching K'nah (bamboo gong and bronze gong) of the Ede people. Through this, they were able to grasp the skills of using gong instruments and play basic gong pieces as required.

Opening gong classes for the young generation is one of the activities that contributes to maintaining, preserving and promoting the cultural values ​​of gongs.

The organizers awarded certificates of completion of the gong playing class to students.

On this occasion, the District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Course Completion to 25 students.

It is known that since the beginning of the year, the District People's Committee has organized 3 classes to teach gong playing to 83 students who are ethnic minority youth in the district.
