Streamline the school network
Currently, Dakrong district has 36 schools, including 15 kindergartens, 8 primary schools, 6 primary and secondary schools, 3 secondary schools, 1 primary and secondary boarding school for ethnic minorities, 2 secondary boarding schools for ethnic minorities and 1 boarding school for ethnic minorities with 123 school locations. Re-planning the central school location, arranging the satellite school locations reasonably, scientifically, and conveniently for students to study at the main school location, the school location has better learning conditions.
Reviewing and arranging satellite schools helps reduce pressure on teacher staffing, streamlining the apparatus, reducing mixed classes with many levels and ages, and improving the effectiveness of implementing educational programs at all levels. School facilities basically meet the requirements for teaching and learning according to the new program.
To mobilize students to go to school, the Department of Education and Training and schools have implemented many synchronous solutions, focusing on promoting and mobilizing parents to send their children to school; schools have built a friendly and safe learning environment to attract students. Schools also organize many rich and attractive extracurricular activities, and at the same time implement learning support programs for students.
As of January 10, 2025, the whole district has 13,492 students, the rate of mobilization to nursery school is 30.6%, kindergarten is 99.5%, entering grade 1 is 99.7%, the rate of students aged 6 to 10 studying in primary school is 99.8%, from 11 to 14 studying in secondary school is 92.9%. 100% of grade 9 students are organized to study career guidance, 100% of students in grades 6, 7, 8 have career guidance integrated into subjects.
Along with arranging the school network and mobilizing students to go to school, the Department of Education and Training coordinates with the District People's Committee to implement the process of mobilizing and appointing management staff, assigning quotas for the number of employees for schools, focusing on recruitment, creating conditions for management staff and teachers to study to improve their professional qualifications, political theory, foreign languages, information technology and professional title standards.
Up to now, the Education and Training Department of Dakrong district has 1,309 civil servants and contract workers, of which 1,179 are on the payroll. Of the total 1,179 civil servants, 27 have master's degrees, 996 have university degrees, 122 have college degrees, 33 have intermediate degrees, and 2 have elementary degrees. The percentage of qualified managers and teachers is 96.7%.
In addition, the Department of Education and Training of Dakrong district is interested in innovating educational management and school administration, promoting autonomy and self-responsibility for educational institutions. The process of promoting democracy is associated with the responsibility of school leaders, while at the same time implementing Directive No. 138/2019 of the Ministry of Education and Training on rectifying the abuse of records and books in schools, promoting the application of information technology, exploiting and effectively using social networks and school websites to improve the effectiveness of management work.
Focus on moral education, lifestyle, life skills for students
Implementing the guiding documents of the Ministry and the Department of Education and Training, on September 27, 2024, the Department of Education and Training of Dakrong district issued Instruction No. 11 on implementing extracurricular educational activities, in which the tasks of ideological and political education and student affairs are fully implemented. Accordingly, schools actively and effectively implement Directive No. 05/2016 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.
The Department of Education and Training also directed schools to thoroughly grasp Resolution No. 35/2018/NQ-TW of the Politburo on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation and directive documents from all levels on ideological and political education for cadres, teachers, staff and students.
At the same time, innovate and improve the quality of teaching and learning in ethics, civics, history, national culture and school culture. Many schools have proactively monitored and grasped the ideological situation of students. Thereby, effectively organizing dialogue activities between school leaders and students to grasp their thoughts and aspirations, promptly handling difficulties and frustrations among students. Schools also proactively detect and coordinate with functional agencies and local authorities to handle complicated issues, not allowing students to be lured or enticed into violating the law.
Schools effectively implement Plan No. 5673 of 2019 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the Project on Building a Culture of Behavior in Schools for the period 2018-2025 in Quang Tri province, accordingly regularly organizing cultural and artistic activities, building a reading culture among students.
Recently, the Department of Education and Training directed schools to summarize 3 years of implementing the model "Civilized school, friendly students, no social evils", the result was that 18/36 schools achieved good results, 18/36 schools achieved fair results.
High schools have established school psychological counseling teams, thereby having effective prevention plans for complex problems affecting students. The school's school counseling activities provide timely career counseling, guiding students to choose a career that suits their abilities, personal conditions and social needs as well as effectively carry out social work in schools.
Many schools actively cooperate with relevant units to foster life skills to help students improve their ability to apply knowledge and skills in specific activities at school, at home and in society, contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive education. Build a team of cadres, teachers, and collaborators to organize management, political education, and ideology for students in the online environment.
Thereby, orienting the students’ ideology and politics to live correctly, live responsibly and strive to study, while at the same time effectively implementing the dissemination of legal education, education on crime prevention and social evils in schools. Up to now, 100% of high schools have established clubs and selected content and forms suitable for age and location to disseminate legal education to help students not violate the law.
