The Man City striker had a very successful year when he won the historic treble (FA Cup, Premier League, Champions League). Besides, he also had an extremely impressive scoring record with 52 goals in 2023.
Although he did not win the "Best Player of the Year" award, C. Ronaldo still won three other awards at the award ceremony: "Most Favorite Player", "Best Player of the Middle East" and the Maradona Award (Player with the most goals in the calendar year).
Although behind Haaland, C. Ronaldo is not sad. He said: "This season, I am the best scorer. Just imagine, I defeated the young monster Haaland. I am very proud. This year, I am about to turn 39. I enjoy being doubted but still successful. I am not affected by criticism".

The Portuguese superstar also spoke about Man City's success. He shared: "Man City have done great things. They deserved to win the Champions League. They should have won it two years ago. This season, Man City are still strong candidates for the championship of this tournament."
Sharing about his time at Al Nassr, C. Ronaldo said: "I am very happy at Al Nassr. It is a big step forward. Saudi Arabian football is in the process of development. They need time to do great things. I think in the future, the Saudi Arabian championship will be among the top three leagues in the world. The Saudi people are proud of that.
Right now, the Saudi Arabian national championship has surpassed the French Ligue 1. This tournament is more competitive than Ligue 1. I can say that after a year playing here."
