It is a commune with terrain surrounding the commune surrounded by 3 mountain ranges of Chinh, Na, Dong, creating a valley, with Ngoi Lao flowing through the middle of the commune, the aquatic resources of Ngoi Lao are very rich with more than 40 typical specialty fish such as Sinh fish, Bi sut fish, Chien fish, Lang fish, Duc dinh fish, Trinh fish, Nhang fish, Ngao fish, Cui fish, ...; at the same time, creating many streams such as Da Mai stream, Muu stream, Ben stream, Da stream ..., with many beautiful waterfalls such as Thac Quat, 3-storey waterfall, 100-storey waterfall, Dung waterfall ...
Fan Waterfall is one of the beautiful waterfalls, promising to bring potential for community tourism development in My Lung.
As a commune with National Highway 70B running through it, bordering the Ao Gioi - Suoi Tien Resort of Ha Hoa district which has been planned, more than 10km from Au Co Temple, Ao Chau Lagoon, more than 60km from Hung Temple Historical Relics and bordering Yen Bai province, it has many advantages for regional connectivity to develop tourism. In particular, My Lung commune has a different terrain and weather from the surrounding areas, creating a micro-climate, with more rainfall than other regions, so the specialty product of My Lung Ga Crow sticky rice with outstanding quality is nowhere to be found, an OCOP product of the province, delicious, fragrant, sticky, rich. In addition, with the mountainous terrain, it can be transformed into a beautiful terraced field system for both cultivation and tourism development.

In early 2022, the scientific topic: "Restoring and proposing solutions to preserve and promote some typical cultural heritages of the Muong ethnic group associated with community tourism development in My Lung commune, Yen Lap district, Phu Tho province" was approved, opening up development opportunities for the locality. Building a typical tourist destination in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in My Lung commune is one of the contents of the Project "Preserving and promoting fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development" under the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030.

Through survey, research and evaluation, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism together with the Tourism Association have advised and oriented the locality to invest in developing a number of suitable tourism products and services on the basis of exploiting and promoting tourism resources at a number of locations in My Lung commune such as: Eco-tourism products on the basis of exploiting the waterfall system, forest environment; sports tourism; cultural tourism, community tourism associated with the customs and practices of the Muong and Dao ethnic groups; agricultural and culinary experience tourism associated with the development of Ga Gay sticky rice specialties - OCOP products, local culinary specialties such as mountain goat, stream fish, ant egg cake, Ga Gay sticky rice wine and other agricultural products.
All My Lung fermented meat and sour meat products have achieved 3-star OCOP certification.
To achieve the goal of tourism development, the Party Committee and People of My Lung commune have implemented and met the requirements of the work tasks in the new situation. Every year, the rate of cultural households and cultural residential areas reaches 90% or more. In 2024, the average income will reach over 43 million VND/person/year, the budget revenue will reach over 12 billion VND. In addition, the commune has established 15 folk culture and mass sports clubs, maintaining cultural activities.
The preservation and promotion of the value of intangible cultural heritage of the Muong ethnic group in association with the development of community tourism in My Lung commune has contributed to building and developing a healthy spiritual and cultural life of ethnic minorities, increasingly rich, vibrant and closely connected to their roots. Thereby attracting tourists to visit, experience and explore, exploiting traditional cultural values, natural landscapes, ecology and cuisine of ethnic minorities, serving tourism, improving the lives of the people both materially and spiritually.
Prioritize investment in key routes serving tourism
Comrade Hoang Xuan Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said: Realizing the potential and advantages of the commune in tourism development and aiming to develop community tourism in My Lung, we have focused on promoting propaganda to the people of all ethnic groups, thereby raising awareness, ensuring unity in policies, viewpoints, goals, and actions to develop tourism. In particular, identifying tourism development as a key economic sector, contributing to socio-economic development, creating many new jobs, strongly shifting the economic structure and creating momentum for industries and fields to develop, bringing about many effective aspects in terms of economy, culture, society, politics, national defense, and security.
With the right vision of the authorities at all levels, along with the consensus of the people, developing community tourism is expected to help the people here develop the economy and promises that in the near future My Lung will become a stopover for tourists every time they return to the Land of Ancestors.
