Currently, attracting and developing high-quality medical human resources for training or business has become a top priority for educational institutions and businesses in the healthcare sector.

One of the prominent trends today is the strategic cooperation between businesses and universities to provide a solid training foundation for the future generation of doctors, pharmacists, technicians, and medical professionals.

This combination not only creates opportunities for learning and practice, but also helps students access practical professional skills, thereby meeting the increasing demands of the medical labor market.

In the health sector, one of the factors that determines the quality of service is human resources. The shortage of highly qualified medical staff not only affects the quality of medical examination and treatment but also reduces the community's trust in the national health system.

Educational institutions and businesses in the healthcare sector prioritize attracting and developing high-quality medical human resources for training or business purposes.

In that context, businesses, especially pharmaceutical companies, medical equipment companies, and healthcare companies, play an extremely important role in supporting the development of medical human resources.

Businesses can contribute to improving the quality of health human resources through vocational training programs, internships at specialized facilities, scholarships, and organizing career orientation events.

In addition, the company is also capable of providing practical working conditions, helping students better understand the work and working environment in the healthcare industry.

With the mission of training doctors, pharmacists, and medical professionals, universities not only focus on teaching theory but also create opportunities for students to gain practical experience, grasp new trends in the industry, and meet the needs of the labor market.

Partnerships between universities and businesses can help create practical training programs, improve teaching quality and bridge theory and practice.

Activities such as internships, visits to medical facilities, or scientific research programs with businesses will help students have a comprehensive view of the medical industry, thereby developing the necessary skills for future work.

One of the notable cooperation models is the signing of strategic agreements between businesses and universities, aiming to implement activities such as granting scholarships to students, organizing short-term training courses, and coordinating in scientific research.

These programs not only help students acquire technical skills, but also help them develop soft skills, communication, and critical thinking - important factors in medical work.

In addition, businesses in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries can provide internship opportunities, helping students apply theoretical knowledge into practice.

Participating in research projects or working in medical facilities also helps students gain a better understanding of the specific work they will do in the future.

Merck Healthcare Vietnam Co., Ltd. has just signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City to support the development of high-quality human resources for the pharmaceutical industry.

This event marks an important step forward in Merck Healthcare Vietnam's commitment to supporting the development of high-quality human resources for the pharmaceutical industry and the healthcare industry in general in Vietnam.

The partnership program aims to provide financial support while providing practical training programs to enhance the quality of education and create career development opportunities for students.

This cooperation agreement will last for 3 years (2024 - 2026) and include specific activities such as scholarships, internship programs, career events, and field trips.

Each year, Merck Healthcare Vietnam will award 20 scholarships worth VND 10,000,000 each to excellent students, divided into two groups: Group I for students with excellent academic achievements, with priority given to students from disadvantaged backgrounds; Group II supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds but with satisfactory academic scores.

Merck Healthcare Vietnam also accepts 5 to 10 students each year to participate in the company's internship program. Interns will have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge into practice, develop professional skills and gain a better understanding of the working environment in the international pharmaceutical industry.

Twice a year, Merck Healthcare Vietnam and the Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City will coordinate to organize career talks, sharing information about career opportunities and trends in the pharmaceutical industry. These activities help students have a clearer view of their career path and develop personal skills.

This partnership program not only directly benefits students but also contributes to the long-term development of Vietnam’s healthcare industry. Students will have the opportunity to gain professional knowledge, practical skills and build relationships with industry professionals. This is a solid foundation to help them better prepare for their future careers.

The cooperation between Merck Healthcare Vietnam and the Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City not only demonstrates the strategic connection between the business and the academic community, but also demonstrates Merck's strong commitment to developing high-quality human resources, contributing to improving healthcare standards and meeting the growing medical needs of the Vietnamese community.

In my opinion, attracting high-quality medical personnel is not the responsibility of any one person, but requires close coordination between businesses, universities and medical facilities.

The cooperative relationship between businesses and universities in the healthcare sector will create a sustainable development ecosystem, providing quality human resources to meet the increasing demands of the modern healthcare sector.

Along with that, the support of businesses will help students have the opportunity to access the real working environment, thereby developing their careers and contributing to the overall development of the national health care system.
