The closing of the Red River Bridge is an important milestone, the last bridge completed in the coastal road project of Thai Binh province and is considered the most important item on the entire route.
The project is of great significance, not only contributing to the completion of traffic infrastructure in the region, forming a main coastal traffic axis for socio-economic development, but also strengthening national defense, security, and responding to climate change; especially, it is of decisive significance for the development of Thai Binh Economic Zone.
Workers poured the last concrete blocks to close the bridge.
After the coastal road project of Thai Binh province, which is part of the North-South coastal road planning, is completed and put into operation, with its strategic location, bordering potential economic regions such as Quang Ninh and Hai Phong to the North and Thanh Hoa and Nam Dinh to the South, Thai Binh will be able to fully exploit the benefits of trade when the coastal road is completed, becoming a bridge connecting coastal corridor traffic between provinces.
Travel time from Thai Binh to Ha Long (Quang Ninh) is now 90 minutes instead of 2.5 hours as before, to Van Don Airport is only 150 minutes and to Mong Cai Border Gate is 180 minutes.
