Tighten border and gate management

Mong Cai International Border Guard Station is responsible for managing and protecting 2.62km of border with Dong Hung City (Guangxi, China); maintaining traffic at Mong Cai International Border Gate including 2 lanes (Bac Luan I, Bac Luan II) and Ka Long sub-border gate. This is an area with an important strategic position in terms of politics, economy, national defense, security, foreign affairs, and a gateway for trade between Vietnam and China. Clearly identifying the characteristics and situation of the locality and unit, the Station has synchronously deployed measures to manage and protect the border and border gates; ensuring security and order, strictly implementing procedures, processes, inspections, and controls of entry, exit, and import and export at the border gate.

Every year, the unit promptly develops programs and plans on the fight against smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across the border; thoroughly grasps and assigns tasks to each team, group, station, and officers and soldiers in the unit. The Party Committee and the Station Command regularly pay attention to leading and directing political and ideological education work, so that officers and soldiers understand, raise awareness and responsibility in the fight against smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across the border.

The station closely coordinates with relevant agencies to patrol and control border areas and border gates. In particular, specific tasks are assigned to each officer to effectively carry out the inspection and control of vehicles and people entering and leaving the border gate area, avoiding cases of concealing prohibited goods on means of transport.

Along with implementing professional measures well, the unit focuses on maximizing the role of local people in the fight against smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across the border. Accordingly, the unit promotes propaganda for border residents about the behaviors and tricks of smugglers and illegal transporters of goods across the border; thereby helping people raise their awareness and actively participate with the Border Guard in fighting and denouncing smugglers and illegal transporters of goods across the border.

Implementing the direction of superiors, the professional teams and control stations of the Station proactively grasp the area and border gate area; arrange forces and means, flexibly apply patrol measures in key areas. From the beginning of 2025 to now, the unit has organized hundreds of teams and groups with thousands of officers and soldiers to patrol, control, guard and protect the border area, on the river, border gate area, and the area under the management and responsibility of the unit.

From the beginning of 2025 to now, the unit has detected, arrested, and handled 12 cases/12 subjects violating the law in border areas and border gates, seizing many goods and exhibits; presided over and coordinated with customs forces to detect and arrest 1 case/1 subject (Chinese citizen) transporting 50,000 NDT through border gates without declaring to Vietnam Customs; coordinated with Task Force No. 3 (Northern Anti-Corruption and Crime Task Force, Border Guard Anti-Corruption and Crime Department) to detect and arrest 1 case/1 subject/1 vehicle transporting 252 used phones of various types without invoices or documents proving legality.

"In the coming time, the Station will continue to improve the quality of border foreign affairs, coordinate with relevant functional forces to exchange information, grasp the situation of smuggling activities in border areas and border gates; strengthen patrols, control, and promptly prevent acts of smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across the border; promote propaganda and mobilize people to actively participate in the fight against and denounce crimes," said Lieutenant Colonel Chu Xuan Quyet, Political Commissar of Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station.
