After completing the first phase of Nightwolf V.League 1 - 2023 with 8th place, Hong Linh Ha Tinh will meet Long An - the team ranked 5th in the First Division, in the 2023 National Cup arena.

Participating in this tournament, Hong Linh Ha Tinh did not have to play in the qualifying round and went straight to the round of 16, meeting Long An Club at home. This can be considered not too difficult an opponent for coach Nguyen Thanh Cong and his team.
Long An Football Team is currently competing in the National First Division of Bia Sao Vang under the leadership of former Vietnam national team striker - Coach Nguyen Anh Duc. Entering this year's season, Long An Club has made quite thorough preparations for the tournaments with 11 new contract players. Among them, there are some notable names such as: Huynh Van Thanh, who used to play for Saigon Club, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa; former Hong Linh Ha Tinh goalkeeper Phan Dinh Vu Hai, who has a lot of experience playing football in the V.League. After 10 rounds, Long An is currently ranked 5th in the First Division with 13 points, scoring 14 goals and conceding 16 goals.
This season, Long An has deployed a fast, intense and well-rehearsed attacking style. However, the finishing of the team's attack has not been as effective as expected. Meanwhile, the defense is not strong enough to withstand the opponents' counterattacks. The evidence is that in recent matches against Quang Nam, Hoa Binh or PVF-CAND, Long An Club has attacked a lot but was the one to concede the first goal.

Coach Nguyen Anh Duc's students also had 3 winless matches in the First Division before going to visit Ha Tinh Stadium.
Long An's squad is also at a disadvantage as some players who play an important role in the team's gameplay are injured and are doubtful of playing, such as defenders Tran Anh Thi and Nguyen Nhat Minh, and defensive midfielder Nguyen Trong Phu.
However, coach Anh Duc's replacements are all in good shape and energetic when selected to play.
Hong Linh Ha Tinh is in a good mood after securing early relegation in V.League.
For Hong Linh Ha Tinh, the team is currently in a very comfortable mood after entering the top 8 teams in the first phase of V.League. No longer worrying about relegation, focusing on the National Cup to find a title will be a brighter goal for coach Nguyen Thanh Cong's team.
Earlier this year, Hong Linh Ha Tinh and Long An also played a friendly match to assemble the team before entering the new season. In this meeting, Hong Linh Ha Tinh showed superiority and won 2-1.
If they win and advance, Hong Linh Ha Tinh's next opponent in the National Cup will be the winner of the match between Topenland Binh Dinh and Quang Nam.
