(Dan Tri) - More than 500 Ao Dai sets from the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival not only shine on stage but also continue the journey of spreading cultural values.
The 11th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival - an annual cultural event honoring the Vietnamese Ao Dai - was successfully held this March. With the theme "Vietnamese Ao Dai - Rising Vietnam", the program was directed by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, hosted by the Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, in coordination with many organizing units.
This year, the festival introduced 55 collections with more than 500 designs, an increase of 30-40% compared to previous years. What is special is that almost the entire collection is custom-made, designed according to themes, bringing diversity and new creativity.
An important highlight of this year's festival is the division of performances into historical periods, associated with different themes, tones and design ideas.

For the first time, the program dedicated a separate space to honor designers. Director Hoang Nhat Nam - who played an important role in the organization - emphasized the significance of the honor.
"Designers often stand behind the scenes, quietly creating. I want to bring them closer to the audience, so that everyone can see that each Ao Dai is the crystallization of a passionate artistic journey," said director Hoang Nhat Nam.
According to the director, many designs from the festival are preserved. Some of the special Ao Dai sets - which have appeared in international beauty contests and won major awards - have been donated to the Southern Women's Museum, continuing to tell the story of national identity to the public.

The festival is not only grand in scale but also gathers a large number of artists, beauty queens, runners-up, actors, and singers. From People's Artist Bach Tuyet, Meritorious Artist Kim Xuan, Meritorious Artist Phi Dieu to bright young faces, all wearing Ao Dai, creating a brilliant picture of beauty and culture.
Ao dai not only appears on the catwalk but also spreads in many fields. Athletes such as Le Dinh Duc, Chau Tuyet Van or consulates and ambassadors’ wives when wearing Ao dai all contribute to honoring the traditional beauty of Vietnam on the international stage.
